Our top ranked senior prospect certainly lived up to that billing on Wednesday with one of his future college coaches in attendance. This was my third North Laurel game of the season and Wednesday was by far Davidson’s best effort of the three. Starting the game with a monster dunk in the lane, that set the tone for the type of physicality Davidson was going to play with all game long. Davidson had another dunk off a sweet BLOB set and knocked down all three of his pull-up 3-point attempts. Dominant effort by Davidson who simply willed his team to another win at Rupp Arena, a place he’s played as well as anybody I’ve seen.

is the total package. Hard defender, can shoot from beyond the arc, can handle physicality. Reece is dangerous from anywhere on the floor with the ball in his hands. He has no problem getting to the rim or shooting the outside jumper.

Reece is a high ceiling, low floor player who has a bright future. Davidson had been plagued by injuries over the first few years of his career but has been healthy more often than not for the last 2 years and is likely the best long term prospect in this class in Kentucky. He’ll be playing his college ball at Liberty next season.

Reece is a Mr. Basketball candidate for a reason. He can do it all. He can shoot the outside shot, he can get to the rim, he can play defense, he hustles. Reece is the total package for Division 1 program, Liberty University. He finished the game with 18 points and 10 boards.

The true definition of versatile, offensively and defensively. Reece can do it all. The Liberty University Signee looks so comfortable on the floor, whether it is taking it to the rack or shooting a 35ft. jump-shot. Reece is a dangerous man and will be a tough show against the Tigers of Clay County.

Reece is the real deal. A Liberty University Signee, is a fantastic all around ball player. Reece can play inside and out. When he is underneath the basket, he is physical, and with his size, he can get up to grab the rebounds when the ball is above everyone else. He is averaging 9 RPG.

After a slow start for his standards to his senior season, Davidson was absolutely dominant in a 36 point victory over Lyon County. I was really impressed with Davidson’s floor spacing ability, knocking down shots with confidence and running off a couple screens. North Laurel has a big, strong and physical team which has forced Davidson to develop his perimeter game to space the floor in the half-court. After settling for a lot of jumpers in the first half, I was encouraged by a couple strong finishes in the second half where Davidson went right through a defenders chest to score. Those types of plays are what I remember most from his dominant week at Rupp last season and need to see more of as he works his way back to 100% from an injury that held him out of summer basketball.

Reece holds on to the top spot in the rankings despite missing a large chunk of the summer with an injury. Davidson is a stretch 4 with the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. Coming off a Junior season where he got North Laurel to Rupp Arena and had a couple of huge games on the big stage, Davidson is likely the early favorite for Mr Basketball. He’s committed to Liberty for college.
