Adams is a player with some serious long term potential and the ability to score the ball in addition to being a really high level defender and rim protector. Taeshawn bounced back from a fluke injury where he broke both of his wrists last summer and had a really good season. One of my favorite unsigned players in the class, Adams has a chance to be really good in college.
Adams is one of my favorite Seniors because of how hard he plays on both ends. An excellent rim protector who can score around the bucket and has been a good shooter in the past despite some subpar numbers from three this season. If I’m a D2 or NAIA school, I’m trying hard to get Taeshawn in my program. He’s the type of player who can be an immediate impact player and move up a level in the future.
Adams, in my opinion, is the most overlooked player in Kentucky. He’s long and athletic and has shown he can shoot the ball well from range. One of the top rim protectors in the state, Tawshawn is the type of Senior who goes to the junior college level out of high school and emerges as a top Juco player in America a year or two later.
Adams was fantastic on Saturday. He scored 34 points and pulled down 8 rebounds while showing he is a true three level scorer. Taeshawn knocked down 2 threes against Jeffersontown and blocked or altered a lot of shots as well. One of the best unsigned Seniors in Kentucky.
Adams had a lot of momentum as a prospect before he broke both wrists in a freak accident during summer basketball. A tremendous run and jump athlete, Taeshawn is a versatile defender and big time rebounder. Players like Adams have gone on to be NAIA All Americans and overseas pros. He should have more offers than he’s had so far.
Adams is on the cusp of the top ten in the class as he has risen from 20th overall to 11th in the class and his ceiling is high enough that he Taeshawn may not be done moving up those rankings. A high energy forward who plays with a great motor and is switchable defensively, Adams is extremely young for the 2026 class and may not be done growing. He definitely has the chance to add some bulk to his frame.
I really liked the energy Adams played with this weekend, providing a spark on the offensive glass and playing with a sense of urgency on the court. I also liked how Adams was aggressive at finishing at the rim, trying to dunk when the opportunity presented itself and going into contact. Defensively, Adams can defend bigs or wings and showed his ability to defend on the perimeter in numerous stretches this weekend. Solid production in all three games I caught is the recipe to being spotlighted as a standout performer when the weekend ends.
Adams is a very athletic forward who excels at finishing around the rim and blocking shots on the defensive end. Taeshawn is young enough to be a Sophomore and we would be talking about him as a top 10 2027 if that were the case. After averaging 13 points on 62% shooting this season, his arrow is trending up.
