Below is a review of several grassroots teams from southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond) who made serious noise on the circuits over the last week.
17U
Philly Pride UAA
Down in Atlanta this talented Philly Pride team posted a 4-3 record at the UAA Finals. They were eliminated from the tourney in the Round of 16 by Arizona Select. Along the way Philly Pride 17s received contributions from everyone, but the efforts of stretch-4 Greg Guidinger Greg Guidinger 6'6" | SF Central York | 2024 State PA , shooting guard Jermai Stewart-Herring, point guard Izaiah Pasha and big man Luke Bevilacqua Luke Bevilacqua 6'10" | C George School | 2025 State #68 Nation PA were extraordinarily impressive.
Team Final EYBL
TF 17s came up short on their goal of winning the 2023 Peach Jam. They finished with a 4-2 record, losing in the quarterfinals. Jalil Bethea Jalil Bethea 6'4" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2024 State #5 Nation PA continued to prove he is one of the top 2024 players in the country. Combo guard Ahmad Nowell Ahmad Nowell 6'0" | PG Imhotep Charter | 2024 State #36 Nation PA averaged 6 dimes per game, showing once again that his versatility is underrated. Georgetown commit Thomas Sorber Thomas Sorber 6'9" | C Archbishop Ryan | 2024 State #58 Nation PA was a force on the interior.
Mt. Pleasant Bulldogs
MPB 17s ran the table at the AC Jam Fest. They defeated Red Rush Ontario in the championship game of their “Platinum Division” bracket. Naeem Colston Naeem Colston 6'5" | PF Samuel Fels | 2024 State PA posted three double-doubles before getting injured. Nate Townsend Nate Townsend 6'2" | CG Neshaminy | 2024 State PA was a beast all tourney and posted his own double-double in the championship game. Emeer Coombs Emeer Coombs 5'9" | PG Neshaminy | 2024 State PA provided extraordinary point guard play throughout. Anthony Lilly Anthony Lilly 6'7" | C Father Judge | 2024 State PA assembled an excellent stretch of games as well.
16U
Brad Wannamaker Elite
At the Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest, BW Elite 16s lost in the 16U HGSL Championship game to Middlesex Magic (MA). The squad received tremendous wing play Keon Mtume-Long Keon Mtume-Long 6'3" | SG Neumann-Goretti | 2025 State #393 Nation PA , Brandon Williams Brandon Williams 6'4" | CG West Philladelphia | 2025 State PA and Abdrahaman Coulibaly Abdrahaman Coulibaly 6'3" | SF West Philadelphia | 2024 State PA . Floor general Saaid Lee Saaid Lee 5'9" | PG West Catholic | 2025 State PA ran the show at a high level.
Team Final E16
TF16s added another piece to their trophy case by winning their “Platinum Pool” at the Atlantic City Jam Fest. This squad then went 2-1 at the Summer Jam Fest (Manheim, PA), losing in the semifinals. Combo guard Deuce Maxey Deuce Maxey 6'2" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA , shooting guard Jake West Jake West 6'1" | PG William Penn Charter | 2025 State #193 Nation PA and 6’7” forward Khalid Ousmane did the bulk of the damage for Team Final
Philly Pride UAA
Philly Pride 16s produced a 5-2 record at UAA Finals in Atlanta, Georgia. The backcourt trio of Kevair Kennedy Kevair Kennedy 6'1" | PG Father Judge | 2025 State PA , Jacob Nguyen Jacob Nguyen 6'3" | SG Spring Ford | 2025 State PA and Cameron Wallace Cameron Wallace 6'5" | SF Westtown School | 2025 State PA made major contributions. Stretch-4 prospect Donovan Fromhartz Donovan Fromhartz 6'5" | SF Downingtown West | 2025 State PA continued to impress. Bigs Nelson Lamizana Nelson Lamizana 6'9" | PF West Chester Henderson | 2024 State PA and Nigel Pierman Nigel Pierman 6'6" | CG Friends Central | 2025 State PA produced on the big stage too.
Philly Revolution
The Rev’s 16s registered a 3-1 record at the AC Jam Fest. The team’s only loss came in semifinals of their “Platinum Division” elimination bracket to eventual tourney champion Team Final . Forward Cameron Smith Cameron Smith 6'7" | PF Academy Of New Church | 2026 State PA , wing Kevin Beck Kevin Beck 6'2" | CG Father Judge | 2025 State PA , shooting guard Luke Melniczak Luke Melniczak 6'2" | CG George School | 2025 State PA and combo guard Michael Green Michael Green 5'10" | CG Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA grabbed the attention of college coaches.
We R1 UAA
We R1’s top 16u team had a tremendous run down in Atlanta. They assembled a 4-1 record at the UAA Finals. We R1 16s only loss came in the semifinals to eventual champion Team Thrill. The team received fantastic guard play from Gabriel Tanner Gabriel Tanner 6'4" | SG Perkiomen School | 2025 PA and Robbie Johnson. The Sanford HS (DE) duo of Tommy Vaughn and Jayden Taylor also turned heads.
York Ballers
This underrated YB group racked up a 4-1 record at the AC Jam Fest. Their only loss was to the above-mentioned Team Final squad in their division title game. Power forward Carter Wamsley Carter Wamsley 6'7" | PF Eastern York | 2025 State PA , center Ben Rill Ben Rill 6'8" | PF Central York | 2025 State PA and elusive point guard JoJo Woodard JoJo Woodard 5'11" | CG Central York | 2025 State PA led the way. Going forward Azmir Ludvig is a prospect to watch closely.
15U
Team Final Red E15
TFR’s youngest EYBL squad won their pool championship at the AC Jam Fest (NJ). They followed that up by making a run to the title game at the Summer Jam Fest (Manheim, PA) where they lost to NJ Scholars EYBL. Over the two events, this TF group recorded a 7-1 record. The backcourt of Kody Colson Kody Colson 5'10" | PG Imhotep Charter | 2026 State PA and Torrey Brooks Torrey Brooks 5'11" | PG Neumann-Goretti | 2026 State PA was stellar across the two tourneys. Kingston Wheatley Kingston Wheatley 6'6" | PF West Catholic | 2026 State PA was outstanding as well.
PA Coalition
This PAC team survived a brutal schedule to capture their AC Jam Fest “Platinum Division” hardware down in Atlantic City. Scoring guard Reece Brown Reece Brown 6'3" | CG Trinity | 2026 State PA , combo guard Jelani Easter Jelani Easter 6'4" | PG Central Dauphin | 2026 State PA , slasher wing Alijah Cooper Alijah Cooper 6'0" | CG Calvary Christian Academy | 2026 State PA and small forward Hayden Lay all boosted their recruiting stock.
Philly Revolution
Philly Rev’s 15u team lost in semifinals of their AC Jam Fest “Platinum Division” bracket. They shook off that loss quickly and went 3-1 at Summer Jam Fest. Their only loss out at Spooky Nook came in the HGSL Championship game. The play of combo guard Owen Kelly Owen Kelly 6'3" | SG SCH Academy | 2026 State PA , point guard Kobe Bazemore Kobe Bazemore 5'10" | PG Upper Dublin | 2026 State PA and wing Brian Donahue Brian Donahue 6'4" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2026 State PA stood out. As the July circuit continues, keep an eye on guard Rocco Westfield.
PMT Warriors
It was strong showing by PMT 15s over the last five days. First the team went 3-1 at the AC Jam Fest, losing in semifinals of their “Platinum Division” bracket. Then out at the Spooky Nook facility, PMT 15s ran up a 4-0 record and brought home their Summer Jam Fest division title. Stock rising guard Dawson Brown Dawson Brown 6'1" | CG Phoenixville | 2026 State PA , small forward Joe Terreri and wing Kingston McKoy Kingston McKoy 6'3" | PG Berks Catholic | 2026 State PA led the way for PMT during this recent stretch.
