Melniczak is multi-skilled guard who capped an incredible senior year with 1st Team All-FSL honors. This lefty owns the reputation as a lights out 3-point shooter, and he definitely displayed that skill set again in 2024-25. But Melniczak really turned heads this winter with his sneaky quick bursts off the dribble that got him into the lane for floaters, runners, and lay-ins. On other paint touches, Melniczak’s high IQ and court vision enabled him to deliver kicks outs passes to open shooters. This season Melniczak averaged 13 points and 5 boards per night. He notched a double double of 21 points (2 threes) and 10 rebounds against Phelps School. He also posted a near double double of 23 points (3 triples) and 8 boards versus ANC. On defense, Melniczak was a lockdown defender and guarded the opponent’s No. 1 option on a nightly basis.

While it came in losing fashion, the consistently-improving Melniczak showed much of the versatile wing attack that’s turned him from a deep reserve into a key starter over his time at George. He shines with his ability to do a bit of everything, whether spacing the floor, cutting to the rim, or running ahead in transition. His toughness, versatility, and contributions to winning should be highly valued at the D3 level with the chance to sneak his way into a scholarship given the rate of improvement over the years.

There’s a lot to be said as a prospect for consistent year-to-year improvement, and few embody that notion more than Melniczak. A southpaw wing guard, he’s grown from a little-used bench piece into a key scorer for a George team that surpassed expectations in winning the regular season Friends League title. He’s somewhat of a Swiss-army knife with his ability to knock down shots off the catch, attack gaps as a slasher, defend multiple positions, and find his way to loose balls on both ends. High-level D3 programs should be all over Melniczak, with his contributions to winning and track record of improvement giving academic scholarship-level programs reason to check in.
