Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
UD’s senior leader at the point of attack, Bazemore put on a masterful performance with a team-high 20 points while pushing seemingly every right button throughout the game. The southpaw was efficient with his shot selection, using his speed to attack the rim when seams opened up and knocking down all 3 of his attempts from the perimeter. He was consistently able to get into the paint and kick out to shooters while also playing hounding defense with quick hands playing passing lanes or crashing in for double teams. It was a dynamic two-way effort that gave a clear window into why Bazemore projects as an impact get at the small-college level for Del Val.

Read EvaluationAri Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
A multi-year returning starter from last year’s district title team, Bazemore looked ready to take a jump forward in his production with a bit more on his plate heading into his senior year. A smooth lefty lead guard, he looked a bit bigger and stronger than in the past while showing strong command over the floor with the ball in his hands. Bazemore was efficient at the helm of the offense, moving the ball when appropriate but also knocking down open looks himself and seeking out mismatches to punish with knifing drives to the cup. His energy and playmaking ability should make him a popular name among college coaches with a chance to play his way onto scholarship radars with a strong senior year.

. However, we will be watching Bazemore closely too. He is a speedy point guard with elusive dribble skills. That combination gets Bazemore into the paint with ease where the lefty can score at the rim or via floaters. His ability to kiss tough angle shots of the glass for a bucket is unique. Bazemore is also a skilled passer who can execute kick outs on those drives too. As a bonus to his attack the rim skills, Bazemore can produce points in the open court and splash threes.
