His addition to the Blue Devils lineup will provide needed floor spacing for their host of dribble drive guards. Scherzer’s jumper possesses a quick release and logo distance range, so opponents need to pick him up the moment he steps over half court. Additionally, Scherzer can put the ball on the floor and create opportunities for himself as well as teammates. When he is looking to score off the dribble, Scherzer can do so via stop and pop jumpers or by getting to the tin for a lay-up. Scherzer is an underrated open court threat too.
