Upper Dublin was already slated to be a favorite in District 1 5A behind a high-powered pair of returning seniors, but the Cardinals now have an added wrinkle with the emergence of Johnson in the backcourt. Taking over lead guard duties for since-graduated program stalwart Kobe Bazemore, Johnson is quick and poised with the ball as a primary handler. He shows nice footwork and soft touch getting into the lane for floaters, with length to grow into and a frame that suggests he could add at least another inch or two. We’ll look forward to learning more as he’s tested further with the Cardinals’ expecting to play deep into the postseason.
