Across the four games leading up to the SOL championship contest, Mulroy posted 16.3 points per contest. Then on Monday during Upper Dublin’s victory over Upper Moreland, he really found his scoring grove and exploded for 33 points. The fast and athletic Mulroy registered that 30-piece without hitting a single 3-ball. His unique performance on Monday night proved once again that Mulroy is one of the top off the dribble / transition scorers in the region. His filthy change of direction moves got Mulroy to his favorite spots. Once there, Mulroy knocked down runners as well as floaters and kissed shots off the glass. Mulroy popped a couple mid-range jumpers too. He also repeatedly got out on the fast break as a ball handler or lane filler and then converted on contested lay-ins. Upper Dublin has now won 24 straight games and will enter the District 1-5A tournament as the No. 1 seed.

Over the weekend Mulroy (1st Team All-SOL in 2023-24) posted 15 points (2 threes) and 7 rebounds in a win over Cheltenham as well as 14 points in win over Plymouth Whitemarsh. Thanks to Mulroy’s outstanding play, Upper Dublin now heads to the Suburban One championship tilt on a 23-game winning streak. In those victories Mulroy continued to prove he is one of the top off the dribble scoring machines in the area. His crafty moves and ability to sink difficult shots off the bounce were on full display all weekend. Mulroy’s athleticism and quick bursts frequently caught defenders by surprise as he finished on the fast break repeatedly. How this three-level scorer remains available is a mystery.

Mulroy used his brute strength and physicality throughout his teams win over Plymouth-Whitemarsh (PA). He was able to score on the interior. He found ways to get others involved in the flow of the game. He was active on the glass. He finished with double figure points and was able score at the foul line. He plays a rugged style of basketball.

Over the weekend Mulroy (1st Team All-SOL in 2023-24) once again showed that he one of the best off the dribble scorers in southeastern Pennsylvania. The trifecta of his quick burst, deep bag of moves and ability to kiss difficult shots of the glass make Mulroy unstoppable in the half-court. He can also produce points in transition and splash threes. Mulroy is the recipient of frequent double teams, but he is quick to recognize those situations and move the ball to an open teammate. This past weekend Mulroy torched Abington for 25 points (2 threes) in another UD win.

In 2023-24 Mulroy averaged 15 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds per game as he led UD to the SOL title and the District 1-5A championship game. After the season he was named to the 1st Team All-SOL squad. That is an extremely impressive list of accomplishments. Still, after watching Mulroy play from June through October, we are expecting an even bigger 2024-25 season by this this three-level scoring guard. Simply stated, Mulroy is one of the top perimeter bucket getters in the region. With his quick first step and extensive list of dribble moves, Mulroy is unstoppable off the bounce. His ability to convert on runners from tough angles or over double teams in unique. If defenders sag off Mulroy, he will splash open threes all day. As a nice bonus, Mulroy owns the speed, IQ and finishing skills to be effective in transition as a scorer or distributor.

At the DELCO Fall Shootout, Mulroy proved again that he is one of top perimeter threats in the region. His ridiculous bag of scoring moves and fakes was on full display. Mulroy’s footwork was fantastic too. He used a slew of spins, change of direction moves and Euro steps to get to the rim. Mulroy also flashed the ability to play off two feet. His knack for hitting shots from tough angles or over multiple defenders is unique. When opponents focused on keeping Mulroy out of the paint, he simply popped the open three. His high IQ and court awareness enabled Mulroy to recognize double teams quickly and move the ball to an open teammate. College coaches should be all over this kid.

Simply put, Mulroy is a playmaker. His speed, agility and elusive handles allow him to thrive on the fast break. In half-court possessions where Mulroy plays off-the-ball, he can drain threes or slash to the rack for lay-ins. Mulroy can also initiate offense with the dribble. His aggressive straight-line drives are difficult to stop. Plus, Mulroy can slam on the brakes and then hit a pull-up jumper. The combination of his high IQ, court vision and unselfish nature make Mulroy a willing passer. He is especially adept at passing out of double teams. Defensively, Mulroy is a plus player with a knack for turning steals into easy buckets.
