Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Hoops Scout
Last night Sniras did what Sniras usually does – score at all three levels. Against PW’s tenacious defense, this 1st Team All-Central League selection did a tremendous job of recognizing mismatches and then attacking his defender off the dribble. Sniras also popped jumpers from all over the floor and scored on the fast break. An underrated part of his game is the patience Sniras displayed while running GV’s half-court sets until he gets a clean, efficient scoring look. In the loss to PW, Sniras scored 22 points (1 three). Sniras is committed to Wilkes University (D3).

Sniras posted a spectacular senior campaign. He averaged 19 points per night and led Garnet Valley to a 17-5 record as well as the 4-seed in the District 1-6A playoffs. Sniras is a lock to repeat as a 1st Team All-Central League selection and is a serious contender for the POY award. In late December, Sniras poured home 29 points during a win over St. Georges (DE) to become GV’s all-time leading scorer with 1,481 points. Sniras is a volume scorer and when he gets hot, look out. He can drain threes from logo distance, score off crafty dribble moves and get out in transition for buckets. When he attacks the paint, Sniras is master at drawing whistles. His solid frame enables him to power through that contact and still score. Other highlights for Sniras from the 2024-25 season include a 20 points and 11 rebounds performance during a win over JP McCaskey. Sniras is committed to Wilkes University (D3).

Sniras (18 ppg. in 2023-24) could present the most serious challenge to Gardler taking home back-to-back POY awards. Sniras is a volume scorer who when he gets hot, can explode for a 30-spot on any given night. With his speed and ability to finish through contact, Sniras can produce points in the open court. On half-court possessions, he can drain threes from logo distance, score on straight line drives and slash into the paint for a catch and lay-in. Sniras is also a master a drawing whistles when he attacks the paint. His length, non-stop motor and quick trigger make him extremely difficult to guard on the perimeter.

This fall Sniras had a habit of posting 20-spots at events like the Big 64 Showcase as well as the CoBL Interstate Shootout. In the half-court Sniras produced point at every level and was especially effective off the bounce. When needed, Sniras used his length and solid frame to push his way past defenders for lay-ins. But Sniras can do more than just score. At times, he ran as a point guard and delivered creative, live dribble assists. Sniras draws a host of double teams each game. His ability to anticipate that extra defensive attention and swing the ball to the open teammate is unique. He also was a plus rebounder at both ends of the floor. His vocal leadership is obvious too.
