Golek is a powerful forward who eats up space with his shear size. Like how Golek can find contact when getting to the cup. He is a viable threat to space the floor as a shot-maker and cannot be left open. He has shown the ability to score off the dribble. Golek can also set up shop on either of the blocks and can be a post tactician taking advantage of smaller opponents. He has had a productive spring playing on the Made Hoops Circuit.

Coming off a big season stepping into a marquee role at Garnet Valley, Golek continued his consistent run of production with a team-high 23 points to key Werdt’s Warrior to an opening night win. Typically known for his sharpshooting ability from the perimeter, Golek knocked down a pair of shots from beyond the arc, but was able to use his size and floor instincts to contribute efficiently from inside the arc as well. Continuing to round out his game will be key if Golek is able to elevate himself above “small-college special” territory in the next year.

With the school’s all-time leading scorer gone to graduation, Golek was called on to take a substantial step forward this season and answered the bell in a big way. A starter since freshman year, he emerged as the leading scorer in the Central League at nearly 20 points per game with a highly efficient offensive attack. Golek is a knockdown shooting threat from all over the floor with a quick release off the catch and the ability to connect in bunches once he sees one go down. He plays with toughness, using his size and touch to sneak inside for easy buckets. His defensive role at the scholarship level is a bit unclear but his shooting and raw production figure to have him in those conversations over the course of the next year.

Few traits are better bets to translate up in levels than size and shooting, which is what makes Golek such an appealing prospect moving forward. A consistently productive scorer on winning teams since his freshman season, the stretch forward looks to take a step up as the go-to guy with the graduation of GV’s all-time leading scorer Jake Sniras. Golek is a smart and efficient shotmaking forward who shows a natural court sense while consistently flowing to open space for his trademark jumper. He’ll use his size to punish a mismatch near the rim but hasn’t necessarily shown the ball skills or wiggle to consistently create his own shot. His athletic development and ability to show he can carve out a role defensively figure to be the key determiners for scholarship-level coaches deciding whether or not to pull the trigger in the next year-plus.

If you follow Central League action in southeastern Pennsylvania, then you are aware of Golek’s skill set. But after his outstanding performances at UAA S2, Golek has now put his name on the national recruiting map. Golek’s primary scoring weapon was his jump shot which was automatic along the baseline, in the mid-range and from behind the arc. This long and agile shooting is well versed at running to spots on the fast break and swiftly getting his feet set for a transition three. Golek also excelled in pick-n-pop action. When defenders closed out too quickly on Golek, he put the ball on the deck for a straight-line drive to the tin.

During Garnet’s District 1-6A 2nd round win over Bensalem this stretch-4 prospect exploded for 31 points (3 threes). Last night PW seemed determined not to let that Golek post another big night. Despite the extra defensive attention, Golek still notched 17 points. His jumper was clicking again on Friday as he popped 3 threes as well as a couple mid-range pull ups. Golek also put the ball on the deck and then effectively used a jump stop for scores off two feet. Lastly Golek displayed a high IQ and the discipline to run designed plays.
