In 2024-25 Long-Mtume operated as a starting combo guard for NG who could score at all three levels. During his senior campaign, Long-Mtume averaged 12 points and 4 assist per night. Then in the District 12-5A championship game, Long-Mtume exploded for 31 points in NG’s win overRoxborough. Long-Mtume drained 5 threes in that game. This speedy guard with crafty handle also scored repeatedly in transition. His dribble pull-up game was clicking too. In addition to getting buckets in the D12-5A title game, Long-Mtume was a creative passer who delivered several impressive live dribble dimes.

This talented lefty was having a quiet game against Central York until he exploded for 11 points in the 4th quarter. During that scoring stretch Long-Mtume showed his extreme versatility as he drained a three, got to the rim off the bounce and hit pull-ups. Long-Mtume converted on several tough shots during that 4th quarter. He also displayed a high IQ and the ability to direct half-court sets. Long-Mtume registered 16 points (2 Threes) versus Central York.

His step-back jumper against tight man-to-man pressure is a thing of beauty. Mtume-Long’s ability to use the glass from multiple angles in unique among guards in the area. With his quick first-step and deep bag of dribble moves, Mtume-Long is a dribble drive threat too. Mtume-Long, is also a fierce on-ball defender who generates steals and deflections that lead to easy baskets for himself as well as his teammates.
