Cleveland and Brad Beal Elite got a grind it out victory over Team CP3 to avoid being shut out in the win column during session I. Cleveland was efficient as a scorer in the win and led Brad Beal Elite all weekend at just under 20 points per game. Cleveland’s ability to knock down shots off the catch from the combo guard position helps space the floor for his team and Cleveland’s ability to score with both hands at the rim makes him tough to stop getting downhill. After a big junior season with La Lumiere, I expect Cleveland to be one of the most productive scoring guards on the EYBL this season.

To open the camp, players split into 4 on 4 halfcourt stations where the offense would stay on if they scored and the defense would go to offense if they got a stop. Cleveland’s group stayed on offense for the majority of the session as he was serving buckets to whoever was guarding him. Doing an elite job of moving without the ball in the half-court and creating space, Cleveland had numerous contested finishes with his left hand, a skill that has continuously shown up against top talent. Cleveland also jumped a few passing lanes in the drill, reading opponents eyes to intercept their passes. One of the younger guards in the 2027 class, Cleveland continues to see his stock rise.

Cleveland hit the game-winner at the buzzer for La Lumiere against Lakota West on Sunday. The highly ranked Class of 2027 guard led La Lumiere with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists on Monday in a tough 74-69 loss to Utah Prep. His explosiveness as a finisher and all-around shot-making really stood out in this one.

A quieter performance from Cleveland for 35 minutes and 57 seconds, he then hit the buzzer-beating game-winning 3-pointer to send the rowdy crowd at Trent Arena into a frenzy. Incredible game overall and Cleveland hit the shot to win the game off a great set by the Lakers to free him up on the weak side. Killer play by a killer player.

One of the younger guards in the 2027 class nationally, Cleveland is starting to turn the corner production wise in the Nike scholastic league. I love Cleveland’s ability to finish with his left hand, making quick drives and finishes with that hand in traffic. Also able to finish through contact, Cleveland had multiple and-1 finishes on Saturday. Finishing with a game-high 18 points on 50% shooting from the floor and 3-point range, Cleveland was efficient in the Lakers comfortable league victory.

Cleveland was efficient as a scorer in this one as he looked extremely comfortable from the mid-range area on Sunday. Making some tough baskets off the dribble, Cleveland was playing slower than I’ve seen him before and making counters when he was cut off by using step backs, pump fakes and pivots to create space. Impressive seeing the shot-making from the perimeter as he also knocked down three 3-pointers, two on the wing and one off a pull-up. Nice to see Cleveland elevate his game as the competition level increases for him in the Nike Scholastic League against mostly older competition.

A new name to Indiana, but certainly not a new name to the Class of 2027 rankings in general,

has transferred to La Lumiere for his junior season. The super talented 6’2″ guard is a borderline Top 25 prospect nationally and has really shined for Mac Irvin Fire through the spring. He is a dynamic shot-maker, excellent athlete with the ball in his hands, and crafty as a playmaker off of the bounce. Indiana’s Class of 2027 lost a big name in Jaylan Mitchell, but it gained another one in Cleveland.

Cleveland’s ability to shoot the ball consistently was the key to victory for Mac Irvin Fire . This team is elite defensively but struggles to score at times. Cleveland picked up the load for them when they needed him too. He is always shot-ready and the ball gets quick out of his hands. He is a sniper from the corner. He drew multiple fouls on his three-point shots because they were too worried about him getting a clean shot off. He was able to get to the rim and draw fouls early which allowed him to get into such a rhythm beyond the arc. Impressive offense performance
