About Tyler

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Versatile basketball player with exceptional intelligence on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality revolves around teamwork, resilience, and continuous improvement. I believe in the power of collaboration on the court, valuing each player's unique contributions to achieve a common goal. I approach challenges with a positive attitude, seeing setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow. My competitive spirit drives me to push my limits while maintaining sportsmanship and respect.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a casual chess player and as a member of the MICDS Middle School Chess Team I earned the title of champion chess player of the year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been involved in various community service programs, including serving as a camp leader at both the Travis Wallace Basketball Camp and the Larry Hughes Basketball Camp. Additionally, I played a role in organizing a food pantry at a homeless shelter.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am open to opportunities anywhere in the United States and focused on finding the best overall fit, academically, athletically, and culturally.

Long, active, and explosive, Ray’s junior season may have been one of the most impressive in the state. He immediately stands out with his relentless approach as a slasher, attacking the rim without hesitation and never shying away from contact as he finishes through traffic. That aggressive mindset pairs well with a game that continues to evolve, as he’s made steady strides in both his physicality and athleticism, along with his overall skill set on the floor.

He posted averages of 14 points and just under 10 rebounds while leading MICDS to a 27–4 record and a state championship. Now, he heads into the summer looking to build on that momentum and further establish himself as a high-level prospect moving toward the next level.

If he can continue developing his perimeter shooting, he’ll have plenty of opportunities this summer to showcase himself in front of college programs and compete against top-tier talent from across the country. Don’t be surprised if Ray comes out of the summer with multiple offers as the recruiting process shifts into the fall.
