Ranked as the #1 prospect in the Class of 2027 by Prep Hoops Michigan, Thomas did a lot to prove the validity of that ranking at the Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam. The 6’4″ guard is explosive off of the dribble, incredibly fluid athletically, and very skilled on the perimeter. He can get hot from three-point range and then go dunk it on you when attacking the basket. Thomas really stood out for Storm UAA 17u throughout the weekend.

Michigan’s 2027 class has a handful of talented prospects who have gained the interest of the national media. Thomas holds an offer from Michigan State, the University in the same city as his high school. This offer came after every Michigan MAC school had already offered Thomas. After winning a state title as a sophomore, Thomas and East Lansing fell in the title game this March. Thomas had an impressive season with The Family and was bumped up to the 17 U team for the PIT in July. Expect Thomas to get a lot of buzz this summer.

Thomas received an offer from Michigan State University. This is a really smart offer from the Spartans. Thomas is in their backyard and he has the ability to be an impact D1 player. In fact, I’d say that he deserves to be showing up in some national recruiting rankings.

Thomas is an elite prospect with a big time game. That being said, what might be the most impressive part of his game is between the ears. Thomas feels the game and understands flows and runs. He’s smooth with the ball in his hands and can space the floor with his jumper.

This young man showed up to a Prep Hoops Showcase event last fall and absolutely won me over. He played some electric basketball last month. He’s been smooth and athletic with an extremely impressive basketball IQ and overall feel for the action. Thomas has as much upside as any player in the state.

As a sophomore, Kingston didn’t let the high pressure of a big-time game affect him.Thomas proved to be a top-notch scorer, knocking down threes from beyond the arc and the old-fashioned way by finishing through contact. He crashed the glass hard on both ends, and with his efficient scoring and relentless rebounding, Kingston recorded a double-double in the biggest game of his career so far.
