The 7 footer stood out at the end of the season for Spire International and has continued to shine with Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB . Skilled for a big man, Mabbot has good hands and can pass the ball when doubled. With his height and length Mabbot can wall up defensively at the rim and alter shots. Prospects of his size don’t come across Ohio very often so he’s one of the more unique players to scout in this class. Looking for Mabbot to improve his finishing through contact and foot speed as he prepares for the college level.

Coming over from Australia, Mabbot has hit the ground running for Spire International this season. Standing at 6’11, maybe even 7 feet tall, Mabbot takes up a lot of space in the paint. Showing soft touch at the rim, Mabbot could catch, turn and finish over smaller defenders. While Mabbot was patient, he’s also adjusting to the speed of the game and will take some time to fully adjust. A player with a ton of long term upside, I’m excited to see more of Mabbot as he continues to acclimate himself to Spire and the American style of play.
