15p 10r 3a 1s vs DC Assault
-Loved Williams’ ability to get to his spots in the midrange to raise up for smooth pull-up jumpers off the bounce from both sides of the rim. Williams’ showed good body control on baseline pull-ups with a hand in his face and on hanging double clutch layup attempts around the basket. His speed and aggression in transition served him well as a prospect that constantly pushed the pace to put pressure on opposing transition defense’s to not only keep him in front but avoid sending him to the FT line. I came away impressed with his moxie on the glass in the paint as a pesky rebounder that timed his dives to the rim to leap from out of nowhere to collect boards over forwards in the paint.

— a bigger guard that emerged as a valuable contributor for this year’s Gloucester Catholic group who reliantly maintained a innate and healthy balance between scoring and creating off the bounce for himself and facilitating and creating for those around him. Aggressive in getting downhill and getting deep in the paint, Williams was adept at attacking driving angles while doing an impressive job of keeping his vision and play with his eyes up to make smart and simple reads with the ball in his hands, ultimately just keeping the defenders honest and reacting off the defense.

Another talented freshman stepping right into the starting five for Gloucester Catholic, Williams impressed with his poise and well-rounded skillset as a jumbo guard. Helping steer two blowout wins, he split time across both guard spots and struck a naturally steady score-pass balance. Williams showed an ability to get downhill with pace while keeping his head up to make the simple read, before also knocking down a handful of shots from the perimeter with a smooth stroke and efficient shot selection. Young for his grade and still coming into his own athletically, the D1 upside is apparent for the budding big guard.
