Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
Making a splash despite the loss in one of his final showings at the high school level, Crispin left a strong impression after erupting for 33 points. The post-grad by way of Pitman (NJ) erupted for 10 3s to almost singlehandedly keep things competitive despite facing extra defensive attention throughout the night. Rather than playing off the catch, Crispin created the majority of his shots on his own, creating space with his handle before displaying polished footwork and DEEP range into his pullup jumper. He doesn’t necessarily pass the look test but Crispin’s skill level and moxie continue tracking as a safe bet to translate for the scholarship-level program smart enough to pull the trigger.

Crispin put together a solid performance when I saw him at the HoopHall Prep Showcase in Springfield, MA. He touched the game in all facets. He did a nice job of making plays for himself and others and getting his teammates the ball in the right spots. I also liked how he scored the ball in different ways from all three levels. He also made a few trips to the foul line. Crispin should see a ton of traction at the scholarship level.

Crispin used the month of June to announce himself as a force to be reckoned with on the PA private school scene, as well as a prospect worth being taken seriously up to the D1 level. Sunday represented a fitting end to the live periods as Crispin, despite a narrow loss, put on a show for nearly two-dozen D1 programs with his dynamic play from the backcourt. The Pitman (NJ) post-grad with over 2,000 varsity points to his name came out firing, canning a handful of 3s coming in all varieties while showcasing a picturesque shooting stroke. As the game progressed, he would show his skillset off the dribble both as a scorer inside and a facilitator for others. Crispin looks like he should be a no-brainer at the scholarship level by the end of his post-grad year with a real chance to catch eyes at the D1 level with his toughness and offensive prowess.

Crispin impressed with his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands or out of his hands. He is a sniper from behind the arc and has the ability to hit tough shots from three. I really like how he can see the floor. Crispin is playing chess while everyone is playing checkers. He should blossom with a postgrad year and Perk.

Crispin has proven to be highly accurate three-point shooter with an underrated dribble drive game. Once Crispin has established his perimeter shooting, he will execute a sooth head / ball, then put the ball on the deck and get into the lane for lay-ins and floaters. He can also throw on the breaks in the mid-range a pop a jumper. Crispin is sneaky fast and can finish through contact, so he also excels at scoring on the fast break. Crispin is the frequent recipient of double teams. His high IQ and court vision enable him to recognize those schemes and then quickly move the ball to an open teammate.
