Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
He was affected with his scoring prowess connected on several three-pointers. Also was able to touch the paint and score around the bucket. Denard also showed a lot of flashes of finding teammates for scoring chances, which is something I really haven’t seen him do much of in the past times I’ve evaluated him. Denard also found ways to rebound the ball. I’m glad he showed that he could do some of that because doing that should only make his stock rise as a prospect.

There are a lot of mouths to feed in “P-Dubs” lineup and at Philly HS Live Denard proved once again that he can spread the rock around to his talented teammates and still smartly pick his opportunities to get buckets. Denard’s ability to throw precise dimes off the dribble or out of the triple threat position was impressive. He frequently got paint touches then executed drop passes or kick outs. Denard also did a fantastic job of moving the ball up the floor to teammates who had leaked out on the fast break. When he was looking to score, Denard converted on runners as well as floaters off the bounce. He also displayed an accurate three-point shot with deep range. Plus, Denard proved he could convert on difficult open court finishes.

Our No. 15 ranked prospect in the Class of 2027 has posted a roller coaster sophomore season with his new team. But last night was a high point for Denard. This accurate 3-point shooter was on fire from behind the arc. Denard splashed four triples (a couple from logo distance) as he did an extraordinary job of spacing the floor for his teammates. In Friday night’s win Denard (12 pts.) proved he is a dependable ball handler too.

It seems like Denard’s late transfer from Archbishop Wood to Plymouth Whitemarsh flew under the radar. But make no mistake, he is a major addition for “P-Dub” and immediately makes the Colonials a contender for the SOL title. The No. 12 ranked prospect in the Class of 2027 can score at every level and is especially effective off the dribble. In addition to producing points, Denard can operate as a pass-first point guard who delivers timely assists. His ability to operate in pick-n-roll as well as DHO actions is impressive.
