Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
Having moved down from Newman School (MA) and enrolling at Perkiomen for his senior year, White immediately takes his place in the upper portion of our rankings. A smooth Canadian swingman, he built his reputation at Newman as a shooter, but has impressed in his time at Perk with his auxiliary skillset as an opportunistic driver and creative passer. White could rise even further if he shows greater consistency down the back half of the season, as he’s a clearcut scholarship-level wing with the size and translatable skillset to even catch D1 attention when he’s playing his best.

White had somewhat of a quiet year at Newman School (MA) last winter after transferring down from Canada, splitting time between the NEPSAC AAA champions and Newman’s second team, but showed an alluring skillset despite the lack of significant minutes on the top squad. Moving down to Perkiomen for his senior year, he’s seized the opportunity presented to him with an increased role. The Canadian swingman catches the eye with his inherent blend of size and perimeter shooting, but has impressed in the early season with his opportunistic dribble-drive game and crafty passing vision on the move. He’ll have to continue to prove himself on the other end of the floor, but looks like a potentially sneaky late add for a low D1 program that values his plug-and-play offensive skillset on the wing.

In a world where shooting becomes seemingly more valuable with each passing year, it seems like only a matter of time before White becomes a valued target for scholarship-level programs running modern offense. A classic wing sniper originally from Canada, White spent last year winning a NEPSAC championship at Newman School (MA) while also spending time gaining reps with Newman’s second team. With premium size on the wing and deceptive fluidity as an athlete, White can heat up in a hurry with a textbook stroke off the catch, possessing deep range and refined footwork getting set out of college-style actions. He has a skillset at his size that can potentially add value up to the D1 level, with coaches hoping to see more consistent production and diversity in the floor game in his new locale at Perkiomen.

White, a wing out of the Newman School, checks into the rankings at #33, climbing 17 spots since our last update. A long, 6’8″ hybrid forward, he improved week by week this season, and has started to turn potential into production. He’s a confident shooter in catch and shoot situations, has the ability to put the ball on the floor as a slasher, and finishes with athleticism and strength around the rim. His defensive versatility stands out as he can guard four positions, makes plays in passing lanes, and continues to assert himself on the defensive glass. He has scholarship tools and should catch the attention of low majors this summer.

A transfer from Canada, White has had some huge games this year in which he’s swung the outcome with his exploits from beyond the arc. As a dynamic floor-spacer on the wing who’s comfortable shooting from deep range out of all kinds of actions, White has proven to bring an elite skill to the table as more or less a shooting specialist. While he can be somewhat one-dimensional, at least within his current role, the combo of size and shooting is sure to attract a wide range of coaches into the grassroots season.
