The Class AA Preseason All State Team

Alex was second team all state in AA last year and was second team all state in 16u with Hoop Habits this summer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126464' first='Gavyn' last='Lorenson'] of Lake City (Sr). Gavyn played his AAU basketball in Wisconsin this summer and earned an offer from UMD which he took. A Class AA third team all state player last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2395557' first='Gus' last='McKenna'] of Pequot Lakes (Jr). Gus is a top five prospect in his class that was first team all state in 16u this season and fourth team all state in Class AA last year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2436914' first='Kellen' last='Troup'] of Minnehaha Academy (Sr). Troup was the top player on the state champs from last year earning first team all state as a junior and he is preseason all state as a senior. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2417301' first='Hunter' last='Vinkemeier'] of Le Sueur-Henderson (Sr). The Augustana committed big was second team All State in 17u this summer and was second team all state in Class AA last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Second Team</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2569257' first='Marcus' last='Marshall'] of Minneapolis North (Sr). A fifth team all state player last season in Class AA, Marshall was fifth team in all state in 17u this summer as well and is now the leader of the new Polars</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2524646' first='Griffin' last='Epema'] of Montevideo (Sr). Epema scored 22.4 points a game as a junior and led his team to 26 wins in 29 game, played with SW MN Stars 17u. Second team AA All State last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2416947' first='Ayden' last='Green'] of Minnehaha Academy (sr). The lead guard of the state champs averaged 17.3 points a game, played with [program_tooltip program_id='2075496' first='Grassroots' last='Sizzle'], was 5th team all state 17u.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2387331' first='Grant' last='King'] of Caledonia (Jr). Grant is one of the elite playmakers in the state of Minnesota, led his team to the section final last year and was fourth team all state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2385822' first='Brooks' last='Rechtzigel'] of Cannon Falls (Jr). Brooks scored 19ppg last year as a junior and earned first team all 16u with Fury this summer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Third Team</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2524653' first='Dawson' last='Hofer'] of Holdingford (Sr). The Husker athletic and strong forward scored 25 points a game last season. Played with [program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets'] Elite. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2419994' first='Carter' last='Cupito'] of Minnehaha Academy (fr).&nbsp; The two sport young superstar scored 12.4 points a game as an 8th grader, first team all state 15u with [program_tooltip program_id='2075496' first='Grassroots' last='Sizzle'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2377913' first='Alex' last='Asmus'] of MACA (Sr). The 6'3 leading scorer returns after scoring 18 points per game last season. Fifth team AA All State as a junior. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2381221' first='Carter' last='Lowis'] of LCWM (Sr). The future MSUM Dragon is the top returning stat guy at 13 points and 11 boards a game for LCWM. Played for [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2140590' first='Cody' last='Benson'] of Spectrum (Sr). Cody scored 24 points a game last season and he is coming off an all state 17u. A 6'3 and strong, confident scorer, Thiel scored 17 points a game last year to lead his team to state. Played with WCU.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2560433' first='Braxdyn' last='Male'] of Esko (Jr). The 6'2 shooting guard had a 20+ scorer as a sophomore and then was one of the best scorers in 16u basketball this year. Played with Heat 16u. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126448' first='Colton' last='Purcell'] of Annandale (Sr). Purcell was hurt at the end of last year, missed 17u season but had a second team AA all state season last year. Austin scored 12 a game last year on a state team and is coming off a great 17u season with Comets Hondl 17u.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tollef Birkeland of Pequot Lakes (Sr). Leading points per game guy for PL's state team a year ago. Scored 14.5 points a game last season and led the Fury Goring team to 40 wins. Owen led his team to the state final last winter and had a great summer with Minnesota Lighting 17u. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2423114' first='Lincoln' last='Busse'] of Maranatha Christian Academy (Sr).&nbsp; Busse scored 26 points per game as a junior at GSL, was AA fifth team all state last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126146' first='Jordan' last='Borowicz'] of Roseau (Sr). A 36 point per game scorer last season as a junior. Scored almost 60 percent of his team's points last year! Played with WCU.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3594077' first='Samuel' last='Afagwu'] of Pequot Lakes (Sr). A low post 6'6/6'7 strong player with a good base. Played with Comets Hondl 17u. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2844671' first='Caleb' last='Koenen'] of Montevideo (Soph).
