A 6’7 210 pound low post player that has went from somewhat of an unknown a year ago, to a post up player that really helped Pequot Lakes get to the state tournament, and had a good season with the Minnesota Comets Hondl team.

Afagwu already has an offer from DWU from earlier in the spring and he had a very good 17u year averaging 10.8 points and six rebounds a game shooting 58 percent from the floor (very good 17u numbers for a player). Samuel was outstanding at the GPA scoring on 28 of 41 shot attempts and scoring a total of 75 points in the four games.

Samuel puts the power in power-forward. He’s a physical inside presence for Comets Hondl, and was finishing strong inside all weekend long. I saw him against an Elevate Skills team that has some size/skill inside, but Afagwu was still able to produce at a high level. He uses his strength well to establish deep post position before the ball even comes his way, and then provides a big target for an entry pass. Once he has the ball down low, he simply has to take one power dribble and then explode off the floor to finish. He keeps things simple but effective around the rim.
