Loos helps his team with games with more versatility than I think people realize. Alex is a better defender than people realize, he goes to the rim better than people realize, he scores off the ball using his size and agility, and Loos has shown the last eight months he is one of the better shooters in the class as well.

Loos, who averaged 20 points a game at Goodhue last season, scored 15 points per game this weekend on the UA Rise Circuit helping Hoop Habits to a second place finish. Loos scored 24 points against Griffin Elite and 20 against Team Flyte is a strong driver from the perimeter that has improved his handle in space and his spot-up 3-point shooting and movement shooting.

Playing outside of the Cities I don’t get to see a lot of Alex during the high school season, but this spring/summer he’s been putting the entire state on notice with his play. He helped lead his Hoop Habits Elite team to a win over Gain Elite , putting points on the board in a number of ways. Showed a smooth stroke from three, and was so dangerous getting into the lane and playing off two feet. Alex could stop and pivot for a turnaround jumper, or use his strong frame to power his way up around the basket. Alex is at his best off the ball where he’s constantly moving and opening up easy looks for himself with hard cuts.

Loos was a game-changer all weekend with his ability to consistently attack downhill and put pressure on the defense. He embraced the challenge of guarding the opposing team’s best player and made a real impact on that end. In his matchup vs. Fruy, Alex came through with a timely mid-range jumper and delivered key defensive stops in crucial moments. He changed the game with his grit, toughness, shot-making, and playmaking ability.
