<p><strong>Conference Commentary</strong></p>

<p><strong>Top Ten in State:</strong> Stewartville, Goodhue, Cannon Falls</p>

<p>All three of these teams are going to be in the top ten most of the year and they will likely be the top teams that we talk about to win this league. Stewartville did lose a lot from their line-up but the three pieces back are really good and they have up and comers that played together as a 17u AAU team this year (outside of Simmons). Cannon Falls returns almost everything and expectations are pretty high there and they should be, they should be very good. Goodhue is going to contend for the Class AA crown again assuming the depth pieces behind Loos, Roschen, and Ryan fit in nicely. </p>

<p><strong>League Title Contenders</strong>: Byron, Lake City</p>

<p>There are questions with Byron and Lake City. The Tigers lost their head coach and several starters BUT they have one of the best players in the state in Lorenson and several of his classmates were role players last year, the Lake City senior class has experienced bodies that should help them improve. As for the Bears, Byron is short a main go to guy but they have good players back, they have depth in numbers that others in the league don't have, and there is potential there. </p>

<p><strong>Compete with Most:</strong> Kasson-Mantorville, Pine Island, Red Wing, Lourdes, Zumbrota-Mazeppa</p>

<p>This is a group of five that is very close. I am sure the teams towards the bottom are greatly insulted, somebody has to go there, but I think all the teams in this league are going to be competitive. And many are very close so I had to lean on last year pretty strong. KM has a nice young core but their ridiculous admins took a risk with a new coach when the team was growing with young players. Maybe it works, or maybe change stunts things, we will see. Red Wing has moved here from the Big Nine which is good, they have some key players back. ZM lost a lot but there are a couple holdovers that will keep them competitive. Lourdes has some young talent but after years of bad records we really have to see them improve before we predict it. </p>
