A true point guard with outstanding ball handling, shooting and passing skills, Cooper had a huge sophomore season while helping Regis qualify for the Division 4 WIAA State Tournament. The first-team Western Cloverbelt Conference pick averaged 18.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists while also coming up with 2.2 steals per game. He has good quickness, an excellent feel for the game and a penchant for taking and making big shots.

This kid is a legitimate dog. He might not be the biggest player on the floor, but he works his tail off and consistently makes winning plays on both ends. Cooper knocked down big shots all weekend while also doing a great job finding open shooters and creating for others. More than anything, he changed the game with his effort and unselfishness, constantly making the right plays for his teammates.

lead Regis to a pair of state tournament wins this week? The sophomore guard is a sniper from beyond the arc, shooting 46% on nearly 200 attempts from three this season. The Juneau defense can stifle teams with their length and athleticism all over the floor, so DJ’s outside shooting could help spread them out and create space for his teammates to operate.

Gutsy, skilled and as competitive as they come, Cooper is having a very good season at Regis. He sets the table for his teammates, but can also put points on the scoreboard himself. Cooper is averaging 17.9 points while shooting 55 percent from the field, 48 percent from three-point range and 71 percent from the foul line. He leads Regis (10-2) in both steals and assists, and is one of the top facilitators in the state’s 2028 class.
