Game-Changers: TC Takedown

This event brought intense competition, fun matchups, and plenty of players who stepped up in big moments. Now, we're spotlighting the true Game-Changers—the ballers who made a real impact and helped shift the momentum for their teams.   So, what does it take to be a Game-Changer? It's about more than just scoring. It's the players who make winning plays—whether that's unselfish ball movement, clutch shot-making, defensive stops, rebounding, hustle plays, or bringing consistent energy on both ends of the floor. These are the hoopers who found ways to influence the game in meaningful ways. He embraced the challenge of guarding the opposing team's best player and made a real impact on that end. In his matchup vs. Fruy, Alex came through with a timely mid-range jumper and delivered key defensive stops in crucial moments. He changed the game with his grit, toughness, shot-making, and playmaking ability.     He was efficient from three-point land. Teshome was a great decision maker over the weekend; he only had 3 TO's 4 games. He also hit a game-winning 3 as time expired. Teshome changed the game and proved he is a winner!     Moskowitz (Eden Prairie) made a strong impact with his activity and skill set in the frontcourt. He rebounded at a high level on both ends, consistently giving his team extra possessions. Moskowitz ran the floor well and finished effectively in transition, showcasing impressive mobility for a big. He also stood out with his ability to pass out of the post, making smart reads and creating opportunities for teammates.     *Needs height added to his profile   Brody might have been the best shooter that I watched this past weekend. I said this in a previous article, but I did not see the young buck miss a shot. Schroeder takes after his dad, he changes the game as a shooter. Look out for this young baller from Maple Grove.     He runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2896132' first='Start' last='Strong Hoops']. Ronken gave up a ton of height but never backed down. He boxed hard and played tough all around. Carsten crashed the glass while generating extra offensive possessions. He also knocked clutch jump shots and displayed an awesome attitude, along with great sportsmanship. This kid is a good player and even a better person.     He is now up to 6'1". CD had an amazing weekend at the Takedown. He locked in and gave great effort on the defensive end of the floor. CD dove for loose balls, crashed the O-glass, rebounded, and led the break. Connor cut hard off the ball and drove strong with the dribble drive. He created sveral scores at the hoop and AND1 buckets. CD was voted Player of the Tourament by his temmates and coaches.     He led Real Phenom in scoring at the TC Takedown with 17.4 ppg. Cooper proved to be a reliable and timely scorer for the team. He hit a variety of tough shots in every contest. Coatta is a bucket-getter and he showed out at this event.     This kid is a legitimate dog. He might not be the biggest player on the floor, but he works his tail off and consistently makes winning plays on both ends. Cooper knocked down big shots all weekend while also doing a great job finding open shooters and creating for others. More than anything, he changed the game with his effort and unselfishness, constantly making the right plays for his teammates.     Henry did a bit of everything for his team and certainly changed the game in favor of the Heat. Nowatzki changed the game on both ends. He scored the rock, got defensive stops, dished assists, stole the ball, and blocked shots.     Bogie is a 6'5” prospect who runs with WCU and really impressed with his natural feel for the game, particularly how well he adjusts to defensive pressure. He moves well without the ball and consistently finds the right spots on the floor. What stood out most is his fearlessness; he attacks confidently and can score against bigger defenders, while also competing hard on the glass and not backing down physically. An intriguing prospect and definitely a player to watch in the HOL.     Smith was highly effective on both ends of the floor, making a strong impact with his all-around play. He shot the three-ball with confidence and consistency, stretching the defense and knocking down key perimeter shots. Defensively, he competed at a high level—applying pressure, generating steals, and disrupting opposing offenses. Smith consistently made winning plays that benefited his team and contributed to overall success.     He played up in 17U and made positive plays all over the court. Taylor proved he could hoop with the big boys. He played solid defense and hit shooters in the hands with accurate passes. His role is changing from PG to scorer. Taylor's game will continue to expand. He is a hard worker and a hustler.     Liam was a game-changer at the Twin Cities Takedown and put together a really impressive tournament. He brought consistent leadership and scoring for his team, showing the ability to be a true three-level scorer, knocking down shots from deep, hitting mid-range jumpers, and attacking the basket off the dribble to finish. He helped lead his team to a 3–1 record with great energy and effort on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he came up with timely rebounds that turned into transition opportunities for himself and his teammates, making a clear impact throughout the event.     A Cyclone to watch moving forward. I like his game. Olson is a lead guard with confidence and skill. Miles changed the game as a lead guard and playmaker. He shot it well and played scrappy defense. Miles scores from in and out and passes to teammates for good looks.     Owen led the charge as the Lightning's primary playmaking facilitator. He frequently took on the challenge of defending the opposing team's top guard and performed well in that role. Roschen excelled as a pass-first guard, while also showing the ability to score with his mid-range jumper and from beyond the arc. He plays with a physical edge and never backs down from bigger opponents.     The baller from NLBA changed the game with his strength, quickness, and physicality. Parker is a perimeter player who does not mind doing the dirty work to contribute to his team being victorious. He got many 50/50 balls to increase momentum for wins. He is willing to shoot the 3ball and he connected. Mullen also made the extra pass and set teammates up for open looks.     [player_tooltip player_id='2824353' first='Tate' last='Goergen'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075702' first='MN' last='Lightning']) had an outstanding performance and proved to be a true game-changer with his effort on both ends of the floor. He consistently extended possessions with strong offensive rebounding and was disruptive defensively, jumping passing lanes and creating opportunities. Goergen excelled in transition, using his speed to push the break and make the right read—whether it was finishing at the rim or delivering the extra pass to set up a teammate for a quality look.     TJ Atar was a game-changer at the Twin Cities Takedown and had an outstanding weekend, making major contributions to his 15U team's success. In one of the biggest moments, with his team down 11 in the second half, he stepped up and knocked down three clutch three-pointers, including a buzzer-beater to force overtime. He carried that momentum into OT, where he brought great energy, effort, and communication to help seal an impressive come-from-behind win.     He was the high scorer in multiple games. Virgil did not just score; he dropped dimes and dished assists. Buckta played hard, made hustle plays and changed the game for the Heat.     He did a tremendous job on the defensive end of the floor. Zack does not shy from being physical, boxes out hard rebounds, and passes well to teammates in transition. He created many fast break plays.
