A top area basketball product that is also a very good baseball player, Matejka averaged over 23 points per game as a junior. The 6’4, 205 pound versatile talent scored a historic 50 points in a single game to break a 72-year-old Dover-Eyota scoring record, and hit nine three-pointers in another single-game record breaking performance.
As a rural Rochester area player I could see River Falls or La Crosse, or someplace else taking a look at Mat as a basketball standout and maybe a two-sport D3 guy.
Big wing/forward who made an impact with his rebounding, post scoring, and effort to sprint rim to rim. Showed comfort handling the ball in the open floor, and was also a capable floor stretcher. Just a gritty player who didn’t mind competing with size around the rim or stepping out and playing on the wing.
