Section 1AA – Is this the best section in Class AA basketball?

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Section Predictions</h2>   <ol class="wp-block-list"> <li>Goodhue - Three starters back from a state team that played in the title game, two of the starters back are juniors-to-be and one ([player_tooltip player_id='2140680' first='Owen' last='Roschen']) has had a great 17u season.</li>   <li>Caledonia - the young Warriors battled to the section final game last season and they have their best players back for another run.</li>   <li>Cannon Falls. The Bombers have three starters back including their two leading scorers, and [player_tooltip player_id='2385822' first='Brooks' last='Rechtzigel'] looks prepared to be a star. </li>   <li>Rushford-Peterson. The [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] return their leading scorer, three starters and four guys from their rotation overall. RP will once again be a contender. </li>   <li>Lake City. This is a really hard one to predict. The Tigers have a new coach and lost some key starters from a .500 area team. But they have Gavyn who will be a 30ppg scorer and likely more. </li>   <li>Triton. The Cobras lost a superstar but they have a couple starters back and it's Will's turn to lead the team, and he's also a good player. </li>   <li>Chatfield. A 17-win team from last year that brings back all it's key parts and they had some good wins last year beating Cotter and others. </li>   <li>Dover-Eyota. DE won 15 games last season. They bring back their star plus several other returning rotational players and should be neck and neck with Triton and Chatfield. </li>   <li>Winona Cotter. Cotter was a surprise team last year winning 17 games and they made big noise with the late December wins over Goodhue and Lake City. They have three juniors back from the rotation. </li>   <li>Zumbrota-Mazeppa - ZM lost five of their top six guys but return a starter and the second and third guys from off the bench. Not likely to get 23 more wins but they should be solid. </li>   <li>Pine Island. Ran into a wall last year but really did have some good wins beating Lake City and Triton. Return the majority of their line up.</li>   <li>Red Wing. Three of their top four players back from last season and most of their rotation returns. Some good young players. </li>   <li>St. Charles. The Saints lost their top three scorers from a 15 win team but they do return a pair of five basket a game seniors-to-be.</li>   <li>Rochester Lourdes. I feel like every year we are ready for them to take the step and I think this is the year they do take a step. </li>   <li>PEM. A 10-17 team that was seeded 14th in the sections, they lost their top two scoring options to graduation. </li>   <li>Randolph. A ten win team but a team that lost its top two scorers and look to a solid junior class. </li>   <li>La Crescent. They are the only team that didn't have a win against a section team (0-16) and they graduated three of their top four guys.</li> </ol>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">All Section</h2>   First Team   [player_tooltip player_id='2126464' first='Gavyn' last='Lorenson'] of Lake City (Sr).  Lorenson played just about every role for his team scoring 29 a game with seven assists and 3-4 assists a contest.  Committed to UMD.    [player_tooltip player_id='2387331' first='Grant' last='King'] of Caledonia (Jr).  Grant is one of the elite playmakers in the state of Minnesota, and one of the smartest point guards.   [player_tooltip player_id='2394170' first='Alex' last='Loos'] of Goodhue (Jr).  One of the elite shooting guards in the state regardless of class. Had a strong year with Hoop Habits in 16u   [player_tooltip player_id='2385822' first='Brooks' last='Rechtzigel'] of Cannon Falls (Jr).  Brooks has been amazing for Fury 16s and this is after a 19 point per game sophomore winter.  Brooks flourished in the Fury offense looking like a scholarship player.   [player_tooltip player_id='2140680' first='Owen' last='Roschen'] of Goodhue (Sr). Owen has had a great 17u season and is a top Class AA point guard.   Second Team   [player_tooltip player_id='2375788' first='William' last='Thiemann'] of Triton (Sr).  Will averaged over 16 points a game last season and shot 44 percent from the arc on six threes a game.  He is a 6'6/6'7 forward.   [player_tooltip player_id='2138701' first='Mat' last='Matejka'] of Dover-Eyota (Sr).  Mat scored 23 points a contest last winter and set some school records.  He's helped his team improve every season.   [player_tooltip player_id='2569260' first='Miles' last='Rechtzigel'] of Cannon Falls (Sr).  Scored 18 points a game and returns for a 20ppg senior season.   [player_tooltip player_id='2126149' first='Cayden' last='Lea'] of Rushford-Peterson (Sr).  Put up 19 points a game leading his team to a 24-4 year.    [player_tooltip player_id='2396393' first='Cody' last='Ryan'] of Goodhue (Jr).  A versatile forward that played up on the Lightning 17u and played well.    [player_tooltip player_id='2984140' first='Carson' last='Harstad'] of Chatfield (Sr). Carson is a 6'3 talent that averaged 21 points a game last season as a junior.    Third Team   [player_tooltip player_id='2435185' first='Karsten' last='Miller'] of Zumbrota-Mazeppa (Sr).  A 6'6 senior that scored near 12 points a game in a big AA frontcourt.    Mason Dotterwick of Winona Cotter (Jr).  Mason is the leading returning scorer for Cotter who won 17 games last year and Mason scored almost 13 points a game.    Jacoby Hammell of Caledonia (Sr).  The 6'3 senior scored a dozen points a game last year and his role will be even bigger this year.    [player_tooltip player_id='2569276' first='Tyler' last='Meyers'] of Cannon Falls (Sr).  Scored nearly 13 points per game and returns as a starter.   [player_tooltip player_id='2205727' first='Jace' last='Drilling'] of Dover-Eyota (Sr).  A 6'4 wing/forward that scored 15 points a game last season.     Fourth Team   [player_tooltip player_id='2435184' first='Ross' last='Stoehr'] of Chatfield (Sr).  Ross is a six foot guard that put up 17 plus points a game as a junior.    [player_tooltip player_id='2984144' first='Carson' last='Johnson'] of Rushford-Peterson (Sr).  A 12 point per game scorer that returns as a Trojan starter.    Lewis Shira of Winona Cotter (Jr). Shira is a 5'9 guard that averaged 11 a game as a junior.   Kade Manley of St. Charles (Sr).  A 5'6 guard that scored 11 points a game as a junior    Eli Hust of Rochester Lourdes (Jr). Eli scored 18 a game last season as a sophomore.    Fifth Team   Tate Hartman of Red Wing (Sr).  A 6'3 forward has scored 12 points a game the last two years in a row.   [player_tooltip player_id='2385784' first='Kemper' last='Thorson'] of Red WIng (Soph). Athletic young player is one of the best underclassmen in the section. Put up 12ppg as a frosh.    Briggs Dorman of St. Charles (Sr).  Dorman scored about ten points a game as a 6'2 starter.   [player_tooltip player_id='2865346' first='Cooper' last='Rutten'] of Pine Island (Sr).  A 5'11 guard that led his team in scoring last season.    Bo Brinkman of PEM (Sr).  Scored 11 a game last season as a junior.    [player_tooltip player_id='2960502' first='Caleb' last='Williams'] of Rochester Lourdes (Soph).  Averaged seven points a game as a frosh and had a good 15u year.    [player_tooltip player_id='2362112' first='Jaden' last='Smith'] of Randolph (Jr). A 5'10 guard that scored a dozen points a game as a sophomore     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1AA Section Summary</h2>   When you look at the top of this section you will see several teams that will hit the top ten in the state this season.  When you look at the top 10-11 guys in the section you see all state players.  This section is going to be a battle.  Goodhue, Caledonia, Cannon Falls, I would not be surprise to see them in the top ten all season, and some of the others might sneak in there.  Some teams lost stars but will be solid, and there are some serious up and comers   When it comes to drama, Section 1AA seems like the place to be every season.  And somebody from the section is always a state contender.
