At 6’4”, he brings great size, strength, and a high motor that shows up every possession—especially on the glass, where he averages 5.5 rebounds per game. He’s an efficient scorer, shooting around 40% from three while finishing an impressive 80% from two this summer. That combination makes him a tough cover, as he can stretch the floor and score inside. Defensively, his size and effort allow him to guard multiple positions. Through his first tournament, Benson averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, proving he can produce while playing a complete game. Efficient scoring, strong rebounding for a guard, defensive versatility, and a nonstop motor.

Cody Benson Cody Benson 6'4" | SG Spectrum | 2027 State MN is an athletic slasher who does the work off the ball to create easy looks around the basket. In the semi-finals and finals games Cody was such an active cutter out on the wing. He was consistently catching his man sleeping and beating him backdoor for some easy lay-ups. I really liked his effort to crash the glass as well, and it was that effort that helped him shoot 10-14 in the championship game. Highly efficient finisher who seems to produce every time I see him play.

WHY?

Benson is a do-it-all wing with a high motor. He is relentless while crashing the offensive glass and plays above the rim. Cody is also an elite outside shooter, he is shooting 45 3FG% in the month of May! The Titans task Mr. Benson with defending the best opposing player each game. Last weekend, he helped Northstar pull an upset win against a tough team while slowing down a 4-Star top 50 player in the nation. Cody is one of those guys who brings the juice with a great attitude and always has a positive impact on the game.

I liked the effort that Cody was playing with on Friday night. He’s a versatile wing who’s a bit of an energy guy, as he was battling for loose balls and rebounds, and making those extra effort plays that made a difference down the stretch. Plays a bit bigger than his size as he was a strong presence on the glass, while also being able to defend a number of spots on the floor. Offensively he could attack off a straight line drive, and thrived in transition. Made good decisions in the open floor on whether to take it to the rim on his own, or dump it off to a sprinting teammate.
