The 18th annual Wisconsin vs. Minnesota Border Battle will take place on Saturday, February 7 at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Seven games will be played with the first game slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and are good for the entire day. Online ticket info can be found at https://breakdownsportsusa.hometownticketing.com/embed/all

The games will be streamed at livebarn.com.

Following is a preview of each contest for the event:

Stanley-Boyd (WI) vs. Heritage Christiam (MN), 9:30 a.m.

Competing for a conference title in the Western Cloverbelt along with Fall Creek and Regis, Stanley-Boyd has won 14 of 16 games and is led by talented junior forward Charlie Hoel Charlie Hoel Charlie Hoel 6'8" | PF Stanley-Boyd | 2027 State WI (6-8), who is averaging 20.5 points and 11.3 rebounds for coach Dakota Nichols squad. Hoel and sophomore Josiah Demske Josiah Demske 6'6" | PF Stanley-Boyd | 2028 State WI (6-7) provide a strong frontline duo to the Orioles' offensive attack. Demske is averaging 9.8 ppg and 9.7 rpg, Junior Brenner Myers Brenner Myers 5'11" | PG/SG Stanley-Boyd | 2027 WI (6-0) is another standout performer for Stanley-Boyd as he is averaging 14.5 ppg and 3.1 apg for the No. 10 ranked team among WIAA Division 3 teams in the most recent WBCA/Prep Hoops state-wide poll.

Heritage Christian has a 12-5 mark and features a balanced squad with four players leading the way for coach Tim Herman. Junior Isaiah Coyle is the top scorer for Heritage Christian at 13-5 ppg while also contributing 6.4 rpg. Seniors Jesper Synstelien and Griffin Booms also play key roles and are averaging 13.1 ppg and 11.1 ppg, respectively. Junior Logan Comfort contributes 8.9 ppg and 4.4 rpg.

Roncalli (WI) vs. Minnehaha Academy (MN), 11:00 a.m.

Roncalli, one of the perennial state powers in Division 4 in Wisconsin and currently ranked No. 9 in its division, is led by junior Maddix Gulseth Maddix Gulseth Maddix Gulseth 6'2" | SG/PG Roncalli | 2027 State WI (6-2), a sharpshooting wing who is averaging 23.1 points while shooting 40 percent from three-point range with 52 made triples in 129 attempts. The Jets (13-3) also boast a versatile forward in senior Dominik Frozena Dominik Frozena Dominik Frozena 6'5" | SF Roncalli | 2026 State WI (6-6), who gets 10.0 ppg and 6.3 rpg while playing inside and outside for coach Josh Erickson. Senior standout Donovan Cowley Donovan Cowley Donovan Cowley 6'2" | CG Roncalli | 2026 State WI (6-3), who had been averaging 22.0 ppg, recently sustained an injury and is lost for the season.

Minnehaha Academy is 13-4 under coach Jadee Jones and features one of the better eighth grade players in Minnesota in Carter Cupito Carter Cupito Carter Cupito 5'9" | PG Minnehaha Academy | 2030 MN (6-0), who contributes 12.9 ppg to the varsity squad at Minnehaha. Unlike Wisconsin, Minnesota allows students at the eighth grade level to compete in varsity sports. Juniors Kellen Troup Kellen Troup Kellen Troup 6'8" | PF Minnehaha Academy | 2027 State MN (6-7) and Ayden Green Ayden Green Ayden Green 6'0" | PG/SG Minnehaha | 2027 State MN (5-11) lead the way for Minnehaha by averaging 17.9 ppg and 16.6 ppg, respectively.

Franklin (WI) vs. Breck (MN), 12:30 p.m.


Franklin is 9-8 after 17 games and plays in the Southeast Conference. Coach Tyler Podoll's squad is led by senior Jacob Misslich Jacob Misslich Jacob Misslich 6'4" | SG/PG Franklin | 2026 State WI (6-5), who averaging 22.4 ppg and 4.9 rpg. Misslich has committed to play college basketball at NCAA Division II Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla. Freshman Cooper Foeckler Cooper Foeckler Cooper Foeckler 6'3" | PF/SF Franklin | 2029 State WI (6-4) also is playing a huge role for the Sabers and is averaging 9.9 ppg. Foeckler recently set a school record with nine made three-point baskets in a win over Racine Horlick.

Breck brings an 8-11 record into the Border Battle and is led by senior JP Musoke JP Musoke JP Musoke 6'6" | SF Breck | 2026 State MN (6-6), who is averaging 21.6 ppg and 6.6 rpg. Senior Oliver Flick Oliver Flick 6'10" | C/PF Breck School | 2026 MN (6-9) and freshman Peter Kiedrowski Peter Kiedrowski Peter Kiedrowski 6'4" | SF Breck School | 2029 State MN (6-4) also play important roles for the Mustangs with both averaging 9.7 ppg. Sophomore Max Munsell Max Munsell Max Munsell 5'9" | PG/SG Breck School | 2028 MN (5-9) adds 8.2 ppg for Breck.

Nicolet (WI) vs. Maple Grove (MN), 2:00 p.m.

Nicolet has a pair of players earning recruiting interest from NCAA Division I programs with senior guard Rashaad Davis Rashaad Davis Rashaad Davis 5'11" | PG Nicolet | 2026 State WI (6-0) having committed to Southern Utah and junior Deuce McDuffie Deuce McDuffie Deuce McDuffie 6'7" | SF/SG Nicolet | 2027 State #140 Nation WI (6-7) earning an offer from Wisconsin, among others. Davis is leading Nicolet (9-9) in scoring at 20.5 ppg while also handing out 4.8 apg for the Knights, a member of the very competitive North Shore Conference. McDuffie, an athletic wing with excellent length, is averaging 15.6 ppg and 6.3 rpg. Junior Edward Bullock Edward Bullock Edward Bullock 6'3" | SG Nicolet | 2027 State WI (6-3) contributes 10.2 ppg and 3.6 rpg for coach Terence Smith's squad.

Maple Grove is one of the more talented squads in Minnesota and is currently ranked No. 5 among Class 4A schools by Prep Hoops Minnesota. Maple Grove coach Nick Schroeder has two of the top juniors in the state in Baboucarr Ann Baboucarr Ann Baboucarr Ann 6'5" | SF/CG Maple Grove | 2027 State #101 Nation MN (6-5) and Jack Thelen Jack Thelen Jack Thelen 7'0" | C Maple Grove | 2027 State MN (7-0). Ann, who owns a scholarship offer from Wisconsin, among others, is averaging 21.7 ppg and 3.8 rpg while Thelen is currently at 14.2 ppg and 9.3 rpg. Maple Grove, which took a 12-5 record into Friday's contest with defending Class 4A state champion Wayzata, also gets 17.1 ppg and 4.1 rpg from senior Max Iversen Max Iversen Max Iversen 6'3" | PG Maple Grove | 2026 State MN (6-3), a North Dakota State recruit.

Superior (WI) vs. DeLaSalle (MN), 3:30 p.m.

Unfortunately for Superior fans, the Spartans have played the past 10 games without senior Calvin Anderson Calvin Anderson Calvin Anderson 6'6" | SF/PF Superior | 2026 State WI , a 6-foot-6 forward who has committed to NCAA Division II Minnesota Duluth. Anderson remains sidelined for Superior after averaging nearly 25 ppg in his first seven games, all Superior wins. The Spartans (12-5) have relied heavily on senior Drew Eisel Drew Eisel Drew Eisel 6'3" | PF Superior | 2026 State WI (6-3), a four-year varsity performer who provides a strong inside presence. Seniors Landon Anrig Landon Anrig 6'0" | PG Superior | 2026 WI (6-0) and Colson Schumacher Colson Schumacher 6'0" | CG Superior | 2026 WI (6-1) handle the backcourt duties for coach Kory Deadrick's team.

Minneapolis DeLaSalle (14-2) boasts some of the top young talent in Minnesota. Sophomore Ichima Idoko Ichima Idoko Ichima Idoko 6'7" | PF DeLaSalle | 2028 State MN (6-8) is ranked as the best class of 2028 prospect in the state by Prep Hoops Minnesota and is a key contributor for coach Todd Anderson. Juniors Kamar Thomas Kamar Thomas Kamar Thomas 6'4" | SG DeLaSalle | 2027 State MN (6-4) and Jaeden Udean Jaeden Udean Jaeden Udean 6'2" | SG DeLaSalle | 2027 State MN (6-2) are ranked among the top 16 prospects in the state's 2027 class while senior Evan Miller Evan Miller Evan Miller 6'5" | SF DeLaSalle | 2026 State MN (6-3) is yet another key performer for the Islanders.

Germantown (WI) vs. Totino-Grace (MN), 5:00 p.m.

Germantown has had an up-and-down season to some degree with wins in 11 of 16 games under coach Kyle Fueger. The Warhawks boast one of the state's best uncommitted seniors in wing guard Cahlil Jones Cahlil Jones Cahlil Jones 6'3" | SG Germantown | 2026 State WI (6-3), an athletic prospect who is averaging 25.0 ppg and 5.5 rpg. Jones owns a NCAA Division II offer from St. Cloud State and is also hearing from additional NCAA Division I and II programs. Senior JJ Walters JJ Walters JJ Walters 6'5" | SF Germantown | 2026 State WI (6-5) has battled some illness during the season but is still contributing 14.6 ppg and 4.2 rpg to the Germantown cause. A member of the highly competitive Greater Metro Conference, Germantown also is getting solid production from improved senior forward Dylan Merryfield Dylan Merryfield Dylan Merryfield 6'5" | PF/C Germantown | 2026 State WI (6-5), who is averaging 8.8 ppg and 6.4 rpg.

Totino-Grace has another quality squad under coach Nick Carroll with four players ranked among the best in the state in their respective classes. Senior Dothan Ijadimobola (6-6) is a Drake recruit who is ranked No. 4 in the 2026 class by Prep Hoops Minnesota. Junior Malachi Hill Malachi Hill Malachi Hill 6'0" | PG Totino-Grace | 2027 State MN (6-0) checks in a No. 4 in the junior class while sophomore Daniel Zoa Daniel Zoa Daniel Zoa 6'6" | PF/SF Totino-Grace | 2028 State MN (6-6) is No. 4 in the 2028 class. Seniors DeAngelo Dungey and Tian Chatman Tian Chatman Tian Chatman 6'5" | CG Totino-Grace | 2026 State MN also are key performers for Totino-Grace, which won 14 of its first 16 games heading into a contest Wednesday against Park Center.

Onalaska (WI) vs. Apple Valley (MN), 6:30 p.m.


Onalaska is ranked No. 2 among WIAA Division 2 schools in this week's WBCA/Prep Hoops Wisconsin poll. The Hilltoppers (13-1) have a huge Mississippi Valley Conference game with La Crosse Central on Thursday before traveling to Hamline Saturday for the outing with Apple Valley. Long-time coach Craig Kowal is very familiar with two of the top players on this Onalaska squad as senior son Ian Kowal Ian Kowal Ian Kowal 6'3" | CG/SF Onalaska | 2026 State WI (6-3) and sophomore son Tyler Kowal Tyler Kowal Tyler Kowal 6'0" | PG Onalaska | 2028 State WI (5-11) have played big roles in 2025-26. Junior Brendan Chenault Brendan Chenault 6'3" | PG Onalaska | 2027 State WI and sophomore Gavin McRoberts Gavin McRoberts Gavin McRoberts 6'2" | PG Onalaska | 2028 State WI also are key performers for the balanced Hilltoppers.

Apple Valley had outings with Farmington (Wednesday) and Shakopee (Friday) prior to its confrontation with Onalaska. Coach David Collier's squad was 10-5 heading into those contests and is led by senior Trey Parker Trey Parker Trey Parker 6'3" | SG Apple Valley | 2026 State MN (6-3), who is averaging 23.0 ppg and 3.7 rpg. Senior Camare Young (6-5) is another top performer at 18.9 ppg and 6.4 rpg while senior Ryan Christiansen Ryan Christiansen 6'4" | PF Apple Valley | 2026 State MN (6-4) contributes 5.2 ppg and 10.7 rpg.
