About Calvin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Scoring at all three levels. strongest from mid range and elevating over defenders to score. I anticipate well on the defensive end as well for steals and blocks.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I work hard and am a competitor. I hate losing in all aspects of the game. I’m a great teammate and am first to pick a guy up and get him going when he’s in a slump.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the National Honor Society and have made the A honor roll throughout my high school career.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was named captain of my team as a sophomore, I’m a great leader on the court and in the classroom. I help out in the community by helping out with camps, reffing, and working clock.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I suffered a high ankle sprain that sidelined me for 6 weeks in the middle of the AAU season and found myself watching from the bench. I knew I had to work hard to get back to the player I was before I got injured and it was extremely difficult. I put work in at the gym, in the weight room and at home strengthening my ankles. I came back to play and felt better than I ever had before.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that welcomes and respects who I am and all of my goals. I would love to be at a college that looks at me for more than an athlete but also as a student pursuing a career.

Anderson figures to fill out over the next couple of seasons and become more of a physical player as he has a true basketball frame. But right now, the forward from Superior is known for his skill. He can handle the ball and he can face up from outside the arc and drain three-point shots. Additionally, he has the size and length to defend and be a factor when rebounding. Anderson had it going for the Playmakers in their narrow loss to 24: UP as he buried six three-point baskets and scored 18 points. He missed maybe two or three shots in the game and was a factor defending as well as scoring. He currently holds NCAA DII scholarship offers from Michigan Tech and Minnesota-Duluth.
