Expert Analysis
Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
Wilson looks like a grown man on the court as his physique is exceptionally advanced for a junior in high school. And he utilizes that strength to overpower opponents off the dribble and score at the rim. A combination guard with exceptional ball handling skills, Wilson gets to the lane with regularity and either scores over defenders or kicks the ball out to shooters. He is a more than capable three-point shooter and a player with can finish above the rim in transition. Wilson is one of the top backcourt performers in the Big Eight Conference and a tough matchup for opponents because of his combination of size, strength, skill and basketball IQ.

I haven’t seen many players at the 16u level this spring/summer who can score the ball like Michael can. For someone with his scoring ability he’s very unselfish, but when needed his team can just give him the ball and let him go to work. His strong frame allows him to put the ball on the floor, pin his man on his hip, and work his way to the basket to score through contact. If he gets anywhere near the rim he’s just too strong for most defenders to stop. Sag off though and Wilson can pull-up for three with a smooth left handed release. I also saw him defend just about every spot on the floor for Mad City Mambas , where he has the ability to lock down on the perimeter or fight against bigger players on the block.
