Sims is one of the best rim attackers in the 2029 class. After evaluating the underrated guard, I came away amazed by what he can do. He was the shiftiest player in the gym and a pest on the defensive end. After earning varsity minutes last season with a Vel Phillips Memorial team that reached state, Sims now heads to Madison West, where he’ll look to make an immediate impact for the Regents in the Big 8 Conference.

Sims has a long frame and great positional size for his skill set a player of his age. The six-foot-three backcourt prospect put on a display of different finishes throughout the Sophomore ID Camp at the Champions’ Center. Quincy had some impressive scoop shots, double pump, and reverse layups as he was able to score efficiently at the rim. In addition to his acrobatics around the rim, Sims was fun to watch in transition making the right plays and playing at a different gear for most of the afternoon.

Sims proved to be one of the most effective perimeter slashers in attendance. Leveraging his solid frame and tight handle, the Madison West guard created constant mismatches for opposing defenders off the bounce. Sims was a dependable offense-initiator, relentlessly collapsing the defense to make plays for himself and teammates in the paint. His high motor and creative finishing package around the rim made him a constant threat in the half-court.

One of the most balanced and poised playmakers I watched today. Has a matured feel for game with fundamental soundness. Can score it from all 3 levels off the bounce. Eyes are peeled on the outlet or when initiating break phase. Gets to second level of defense quickly and will take on contact to get to stripe. Boards it effectively from position. Lot to look forward to here from a sharp combo guard.

Quincy is a strong and reliable rebounder who consistently makes his presence felt on the boards. He uses his strength, timing, and positioning to gain an advantage, boxing out opponents and securing tough rebounds in traffic. Quincy has a relentless motor, pursuing the ball on both ends of the floor and creating extra possessions for his team. His ability to control the glass not only limits second-chance opportunities for opponents but also helps ignite fast breaks and set the tone physically in the paint.
