<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Hoops circuit was in Appleton, WI on Friday and Saturday playing host to its' first stop in America's Dairyland at the Midwest Showdown. I got to see all 21 teams compete in the 15U division with some guys even playing up a notch from the 2030 class. In the previous article we gave you the 1st Team 15U guys. In this article we'll list the 2nd team and honorable mention teams who also had great showings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>15U DIVISION 2ND TEAM</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Point Guard - [player_tooltip player_id='2823730' first='Future' last='Staples'] – MPLS Hustlers (3-1, Division B 3rd Place)<br>A primary point guard that could slot into a combo as well. Future has the speed and agility necessary to facilitate an up temp style athletic squad. Defensively creates just as much value to his game with on the ball pressure or making offense make tough decisions.<br><br>Shooting Guard - [player_tooltip player_id='2852100' first='Kael' last='Moore'] – Team 1845 (3-1, Division A 3rd Place)<br>Kael mixed it up between a 1 and 2 at times. He would fit better into a SG slot with a primary point playing with him. He scored it from all 3 levels in a relaxed manner going off the bounce or catch and shoot opportunities. Team only played with 6 guys the whole weekend and still went 3-1 with him doing the bulk of the scoring.<br><br>Small Forward - [player_tooltip player_id='2825964' first='Ben' last='Kalimu'] – MPLS (3-1, Division B 3rd Place)<br>Kalimu is a prime slasher that has significant bounce. At only 6'1 he can hang at the rim with longevity or get past defenders on a burst with a quick first step. He may not be the heaviest of scorers but he's a 3 and D guy that will be a glue guy on defense and make offensive plays when need be.<br><br>Small Forward - Ethan Lasu - (Rise Above, 3-1 Division A 2nd Place)<br>Usually would reserve this spot for a power forward but Lasu has the ability to play both a 3 or a 4 with his athleticism and determination. He may be undersized a bit at the 4 but his mobility and anticipation will ensure stability at position.<br><br>Center - [player_tooltip player_id='2388303' first='Tyson' last='Wesener'] – (All Wisconsin, 4-0 Division A 1st Place)<br>May not score it the most but Wesener plays a really fundamental style 5 man. Clogs up the paint defensively and outworks opponents underneath to win plays. His high IQ and movement with his team going undefeated through the weekend play earns him this spot.<br><br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":3584142,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"media"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/04/PH-Midwest-Showdown-15U-Honorable-Mention-crop-806x530-1775586217.jpg"><img src="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/04/PH-Midwest-Showdown-15U-Honorable-Mention-crop-806x530-1775586217.jpg?w=800" alt="" class="wp-image-3584142" /></a></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>15U DIVISION HONORABLE MENTION TEAM<br><br>Point Guard – [player_tooltip player_id='2394083' first='Quincy' last='Sims'] – [program_tooltip program_id='2506415' first='Elite' last='Legacy'] (0-4, Division A 6th Place)<br>Saw him in the 1st game of the weekend and made his presence known throughout. Can float between a 1 or 2 but I would put him as a primary ball handler because of his ability to facilitate an offense no matter what the defense gives. Has an athletic drive and stamina to make impactful, poised, and balanced plays.<br><br>Shooting Guard - [player_tooltip player_id='2829062' first='Carter' last='Landerud'] – [program_tooltip program_id='2076023' first='Wisconsin' last='Academy'] (4-0, Division C 1st Place)<br>Landerud is a smooth combo guard that finds openings and opportunities when they are there. Doesn't force the equation and let's game come to him. Makes smart reads with high IQ and possesses consistent activity on both ends. Scored it at a really efficient rate and helped team to a 4-0 weekend sweep.<br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Small Forward - [player_tooltip player_id='2822876' first='Jeb' last='Wienen'] – [program_tooltip program_id='3502082' first='Team' last='Compete'] (1-3, Division C 6th Place)<br>Wienen had one of the biggest determination factors with the ball in his hands over the weekend. A tough out to stay in front of. You can put him anywhere between a 1-3 but if he has a true point and a true SG playing along side of him, he'll best fit into a 3 man. Overall had great energy and effort. &nbsp;<br><br>Power Forward - [player_tooltip player_id='2612097' first='Marcus' last='Bonilha'] – DFTP Elite (2-2, Division B 4th Place)<br>Bonilha could be in a SF or PF spot depending what you need. With this list he would be my 4 man because of his ability to use physicality and strength on both ends with a plus wing span. His determination to make plays and remain tough is what jumps out the most.<br><br>Center - [player_tooltip player_id='3187336' first='Asher' last='Banks'] – [program_tooltip program_id='2075258' first='ABC' last='Young Lions'] (3-1, Division B 2nd Place)<br>Plays alongside 2 other big men on team. Could play anywhere between a 3 – 5 man role with his skill and versatility. Has ability to guard different positions even on the perimeter. His length and athleticism are the 2 main primary assets that are difference makers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
