Expert Analysis
Brett Pickarts | Prep Hoops Scout
Ott was head and shoulders the best player on the floor on Tuesday night. The 6-foot-7 senior, who is headed to Minnesota State University next season, dominated the game in all aspects. Defensively, Ott plays the top of the treacherous 1-3-1 defense. With his long frame and strength Bryce is able to generate a plethora of deflections and steals to create easy run out points for Oshkosh North. In the half court, Ott is a pure scorer at all three levels. Bryce canned four threes on the day, hit several turn around mid post fadeways, and hammered two powerful dunks down. Ott finished the game with 28 points and several offensive rebounds. Teams that make deep runs in the tournament need a dominant player that can get a bucket at anytime, and

Every time I watch Ott compete, I come away more impressed with how he positively impacts a game. He’s ranked highly in the 2026 class (No. 16) by Prep Hoops Wisconsin, but he might be even better that his current standing as he just regularly puts up impressive stat lines while also being a good vocal leader for Oshkosh North. Ott had 24 points and scored in all possible ways for the Spartans in their OT win over Brookfield Central. Equally important, he used his length, size and bounce to help the Oshkosh North defense hold Green Bay recruit

Versatility on a basketball court usually translates well from one level to the next. Ott will take his varied skill set from Oshkosh North to NCAA Division II Minnesota State – Mankato in the fall. But first he is doing everything he can to help the Spartans enjoy another successful season. The 6-foot-7 wing, who doubles as a stellar quarterback on the Oshkosh North football team, is averaging 21.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.1 assists while leading the Spartans to a 6-4 record. His length on defense, his ability to rip down rebounds and bring the ball down the court and his diverse scoring skills are big assets for coach Brad Weber’s squad.

Ott’s length, mobility and skill are all impressive. And, like several others in the state’s 2026 class, Ott is a stellar performer in both football and basketball. He will have a decision to make in the near future as to which sport he pursues at the next level, but he figures to have excellent options in both. He had a big game for the Playmakers P32 17U squad in its win over Sanford Sports Academy, scoring 18 points while making several threes along with his usual slashing ability going to the basket.
