Jacob Misslich
About Jacob
Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
Among the big schools in Wisconsin, Jacob could find himself as one of the top scorers in the state this winter. He has the confidence in himself, his coaches have confidence in him, and he has the shooting stroke from three to put points on the board in a hurry. At 6’4 he impresses with his ability to create space off the dribble, and with that size he’s able to get shots off over smaller guards. When attacking the basket he’s shown the ability to finish with either hand from a variety of angels. Look for him to have some explosive scoring performances this winter for Franklin.

Prep Hoops Ranking: 60
Misslich is ranked No. 60 in the 2026 class, but, at times, he plays like a top 40 prospect. He can really get it going from outside the arc, and has gained confidence going to the basket, using his physical strength and aggressive mindset to score in the paint. Misslich is a gym rat who always is working to get better, and his work ethic figures to help him for his senior year at Franklin and as he goes forward to playing at the collegiate level. Misslich is a guy scholarship schools may want to keep an eye on during the 2025-26 season as he could have a monster campaign for the Sabers.

Misslich is making a name of himself during his junior year of high school as his strong perimeter shooting stroke has been a huge asset for Franklin. The 6-foot-4 Misslich was chased all over the floor Thursday evening by several different Oregon defenders, including Karvala. Still, he managed to toss in a team-best 20 points. Misslich’s release from deep is picture perfect and usually finds the bottom of the net. Misslich is averaging 19.2 ppg and is one of the premier perimeter shooters in the Southeast Conference.

Waiting your turn, developing your game and keeping your nose to the grindstone are common traits for a very good Franklin program. After coming off the bench as a sophomore, it’s now Misslich’s turn to step up and become a dependable scorer and defender for coach Tyler Podoll’s squad. And based on his strong showings in leagues and tournaments over the fall, it appears Misslich is ready to tackle that role with aggression. He has very good strength, and the ability to score off the dribble and from the perimeter.

Misslich shined when attacking off of the catch on the offensive end. He showcased his quick trigger from range. His ability to catch and shoot allowed him to play off the defenders momentum a great deal. Team 1 was able to play off the advantage when the ball found him in space.

Misslich seemed to thrive in the open court, but he also showed his ability during the three-on-three half-court competition. He got the rim and finished well with his size and athleticism, and he was able to move the ball on the perimeter with the pass and his ball-handling skill. Misslich came off the bench for the varsity squad at Franklin as a sophomore, and is a likely starter the next two years for coach Tyler Podoll and the Sabers. He played strong defense on Sunday and also did a solid job of finding open teammates with his passing skill.
