A semifinalist for the Mr. Basketball award, Castillo enjoyed a breakout season for coach Ryan Johnsen at Greendale. Another rangy player with a big upside, Castillo was instrumental in helping Greendale to an 18-7 record as he averaged 25.4 points and 5.4 rebounds. He shot 84 percent from the foul line and made 55 shots from outside the three-point arc. Like Juarez-Quinn, Castillo’s best basketball might still be ahead of him as he continues to add strength and weight to his frame.

Greendale is one of the biggest surprises in the state thus far this season as the Panthers have won their first 10 contests. Castillo, who showed flashes of vast potential in the past, has put his game into another gear as a senior as he is a robust 27.6 points per game for coach Ryan Johnsen’s program. the bouncy wing prospect also is contributing 5.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocked shots per game for the Panthers, who played three games this week and still have two games left with top-ranked Wisconsin Lutheran.

Castillo’s game continues to evolve at a steady pace. And once the strong and athletic wing puts it all together, he’s going to be a handful to deal with in the Woodland West Conference. Castillo turned in a strong showing for 24: UP in its loss to EIG Midwest, scoring in a bunch of different ways. He hit a three, scored above the rim, made a pull-up mid range shot and got all the way to the basket to score over some taller defenders. Castillo’s game figures to climb over the next 12 months as he improves his ball handling and passer skills.

Definitely a player on the rise in the 2026 class, Castillo is an athletic wing who can do a ton of damage off the dribble on his way to the rim. His explosiveness in the paint and off the dribble will be key assets for Greendale in 2024-25, and he is an improving shooter from outside the three-point arc. Castillo had 10 points and seven rebounds while also putting down a nice one-handed dunk for the Panthers in their triumph over Waukesha North. Castillo and Isaj give the Panthers one of the better wing combinations in the Woodland West, which says something considering the brutal competition in that seven-team division.
