WBCA releases semifinalist list for Mr. Basketball

The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association has voted on the semifinalist list for the annual Mr. Basketball award, which will be presented to the state's best senior at the WIAA State Tournament in March.

The semifinalist list includes 10 players with a finalists list of five players to be released after the regular season.

Here is the list of 10 semifinalists for the Mr. Basketball award:

Zavier Castillo Zavier Castillo 6'6" | SG Greendale | 2026 State WI
Averaging 25 points, seven rebounds and two assists while helping Greendale to a 13-4 record ... Athletic player with length and impressive skills ... Shooting 51 percent from the field, and 44 percent from three-point range for the Panthers ... Solid defender due to his versatility and mobility ... Gets nearly one blocked shot per contest.

Yusef Gray Jr. Yusef Gray Jr. 6'5" | SG West Allis Central | 2026 State WI
Iowa State recruit ... Big wing guard who defends and attacks the basket with the best of them ... Plays with great energy and desire ... Averaging 25.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 steals for a West Allis Central squad that is 16-1 ranked second in the state in Division 1 in the WBCA/Prep Hoops state-wide poll ... Scored 27 points at the WBY Shootout while helping West Allis Central to a win over Wayzata, the top-ranked team in Minnesota.

Amare Hereford Amare Hereford 6'2" | PG Beloit Memorial | 2026 State WI
One of the more prolific scorers in the state ... Averaging 37.1 points per outing while helping Beloit Memorial to a 14-2 record ... Finishes with regularity around the basket due to his athleticism and quickness and also has developed into a very good long-distance shooter ... In addition to his scoring prowess, Hereford also averages 9.1 rpg, 5.9 apg and 4.7 spg while shooting 44 percent from three-point range ... Recently surpassed 2,000 career points.

Andrew Jensen Andrew Jensen 6'9" | PF Kaukauna | 2026 State WI
Unselfish big man who can be effective inside or outside with his impressive shooting and passing skills ... One of the top rebounders in the state ... De Paul recruit ... Averaging 17.3 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists for a Kaukauna squad that has won 16 of 18 games ... Has 47 blocked shots on the campaign for the Ghosts.

Cahlil Jones Cahlil Jones 6'3" | SG Germantown | 2026 State WI
Attacking wing-guard prospect who gets downhill and to the rim with the best of them ... Improved three-point shooter as well ... Averaging 23.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists for Germantown, helping the team to a 9-6 record ... Owns a NCAA Division II scholarship offer from St. Cloud State.

Josh Manchester Josh Manchester 6'4" | SG Mount Horeb | 2026 State WI
Scored 58 points in an overtime loss to Sauk Prairie in December ... Averaging 28.2 points per game while shooting 46 percent from three-point range and 82 percent from the foul line ...
