It’s somewhat rare to impact a basketball game on nearly every possession. But Dirkse does just that for another outstanding team at Oostburg. The physically strong, mentally tough and impressively skilled point guard controls the tempo of the game with the ball in his hands while also guarding at a high level on the perimeter. Dirkse can definitely score (17.4 ppg), but he’s at his best directing traffic for his team and getting the ball to his teammates with his excellent court vision (8.1 apg).

Leadership, toughness and clutch play pretty much sum up the qualities Dirkse brings to the court each time he competes. Try taking the ball from this muscular 6-foot-2 point guard and you will fail. Take away his lanes to the basket and he will pop in a three-point shot. Close out on him on the perimeter and he’ll zip past you for a floater in the lane. He had 18 points against Lomira, but it’s his court savvy and intelligent play that separate him from most other lead guards in the state.

Cade is a winner and was doing a little bit of everything for Chapman. He is a trustworthy ball handler, rarely making mistakes and getting everyone involved. He could attack the basket with aggression, converting on some acrobatic layups. Dirkse was also putting his body on the line, hustling for loose balls and getting on the floor to create advantages for his team.
