A much different player than older brother, Jamison, Westin Zavatchin Westin Zavatchin 6'5" | SF Oostburg | 2028 State WI is coming into his own as a player, impacting the game with his size, length and mobility. While Jamison used brute strength and a high skill level to impact a game, Westin relies more on finesse and a wingspan that leads to deflections and steals. He can shoot from the perimeter and get into the lane to rise up for mid-range jump shots. Westin has grown a bit since the end of the high school season and has a very positive future ahead of him as he continues to add strength to his long frame.

The younger brother of senior JJ Zavatchin JJ Zavatchin 6'3" | SF Oostburg | 2026 State WI , Westin Zavatchin Westin Zavatchin 6'5" | SF Oostburg | 2028 State WI is a 6-foot-5 sophomore wing with a smooth jumper and the length required to make things difficult on opponents. Westin swished three triples in the victory over Lomira while also taking the ball to the basket for another hoop. Defensively, Zavatchin closes out on shooter well and has the size to take away clean looks at the basket. He is a player to watch in the 2028 class and a key player for an Oostburg squad looking to play well into March.

Most definitely a player to monitor over the next couple of seasons, Zavatchin is a sturdy 6-foot-5 wing prospect who can make three-point shots, go inside to score over smaller defenders and rebound at a solid level. His size, mobility and versatility are all very impressive. He had a strong freshman campaign for Oostburg, averaging 7.3 ppg. Zavatchin’s older brother, senior forward JJ Zavatchin JJ Zavatchin 6'3" | SF Oostburg | 2026 State WI , also is a key returning player for the Flying Dutchmen. The brothers are home schooled, but live in the Oostburg district and thus are able to play for coach Kevin Bruggink’s program. With both Zavatchin’s and senior point guard Cade Dirkse Cade Dirkse 6'2" | PG Oostburg | 2026 State WI in the lineup, Oostburg figures to be one of the better Division 3 teams in Wisconsin. The Flying Dutchmen went 4-0 and were impressive in each outing in Plymouth.
