Arguably the best shooter on a very talented Slinger team, over half of Brett’s made shots this season have come from beyond the arc. If Brett can get going from three, that should help open things up for his team’s offense. He could be a game changer in Friday’s semi-final game.

Palm is a critical component of the Slinger 2026 class that has propelled them to their first state appearance since 1977. Palm recently became the school’s all time leading three point shooter and he can get red hot from downtown rapidly. Brett has a quick release and great footwork on his catch and shoot threes. On the defensive end, Palm is able to hold better guards in check with his natural instincts and fast hands on and off the ball.The Kohnen brothers have faced several double teams, junk defenses, and face guarding, and Palm routinely steps up in these situations to provide scoring punch for the Owls. Slinger will need Palm’s services offensively if they want to get by a pesky, streaking McFarland team that can put up points in a hurry. Brett averaged 7.9ppg, 2.2rpg, and 1.4spg on the year, and was named to the honorable mention team in the North Shore Conference.

A multi-year performer for head coach Alex Lavine, Palm in Saturday’s game became Slinger’s 5th all time leading scorer with 895 points. Palm can be overshadowed scoring wise by the dynamic duo in Jack and Joey Kohnen Joey Kohnen 6'5" | SG/SF Slinger | 2028 State #86 Nation WI , but he does a lot of great things for Slinger. Palm, in their game against Waupun, was in passing lanes and generating live ball turnovers to convert easy transition points. Brett had 14 of his 17 points in the second half including two triples from well beyond the arc. He is a terrific perimeter shooter as he finished with three triples in this game, and is shooting 40% from downtown on the year. I was very impressed with Palm’s ability step up with a starter down as Joey Kohnen Joey Kohnen 6'5" | SG/SF Slinger | 2028 State #86 Nation WI missed the game with a minor foot injury. Palm plays an important role as a two-way three and d player for Slinger who has aspirations to hoist the gold ball in Madison later on in March.

Palm can play either guard position, and his ball handling, passing and ball movement are big assets for Slinger. Palm ranks among team leaders in assists and contributes 8.1 ppg. He can connect from deep, get into the lane off the bounce and is a very good perimeter defender for the Owls. Joey and Jack Kohnen Jack Kohnen 6'6" | SF Slinger | 2027 State #52 Nation WI get most of the publicity for Slinger, but Palm is an outstanding glue-guy whose contributions to the Owls’ success should never be diminished.

Brett Palm Brett Palm 5'11" | CG Slinger | 2026 State WI came up big down the stretch for Slinger against Homestead. Finishing with 12 points on the night, he seemed to deliver when his team needed him most, as 8 of those points came with under 8 minutes to play in regulation. During that stretch Brett drained a pair of threes, while also getting into the lane and finishing a floater over size. He knows that Jack Kohnen Jack Kohnen 6'6" | SF Slinger | 2027 State #52 Nation WI is going to draw a lot of attention on the ball, and he’s proven to be an efficient scoring option when the ball swings his way.
