Expert Analysis
Brett Pickarts | Prep Hoops Scout
Krueger arguably has raised his stock more than any prospect in the past few months with his strong showing in AAU, elite camps, and summer basketball. Krueger has picked up several d1 offers and has an unofficial visit with University of Illinois next Monday. At 6’10 Krueger has great touch around the basket and can step out and shoot it like a sharpshooting guard/wing. Around the hoop, Krueger is not afraid to rise up and dunk it on opponents and on the defensive end, swat shots out of bounds. Krueger is a mobile frontcourt player that had the sidelines packed out for in Appleton Saturday. With July left, I anticipate Krueger will continue to perform well with Wisconsin Swing in July.

Prep Hoops Ranking: 7
Krueger has added some NCAA Division I scholarship offers to his growing list over the past month or so as more collegiate programs become aware of his size, skill and versatility. The biggest offer to date for the McFarland forward came last week from Washington State. He currently holds offers from eight DI programs with more offers potentially coming his way. Coaches are intrigued by Krueger’s ability to score from the perimeter and in the paint. They also like his size and strength, and his unselfish and accurate passing ability. Krueger helped McFarland to a WIAA Division 2 State Tournament appearance as a junior by averaging 20.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

With NCAA Division I scholarship offers from Green Bay, Toledo and Southern Utah, much is expected of Krueger. He came through with flying colors in the comeback triumph over Sauk Prairie, scoring 20 points, hitting two three-point shots, dishing several assists and matching his career-best with four dunks. In addition, Krueger’s shot-blocking and defensive presence made Sauk Prairie opponents think twice when venturing into the lane. “Eli has stepped up big time on the defensive end this year,” McFarland coach Jeff Meinholdt said. “Guys get into the lane and then don’t want to shoot it when they encounter Eli.”
