Garrett Crull had stretches where he stood out as an elite contested shot maker, thriving regardless of defensive pressure both off the catch and off the bounce. Crull consistently knocked down difficult jumpers from beyond the arc over aggressive closeouts while also converting tough finishes around the rim against shot blockers.

Crull is a major part of the talented trio of talented scorers for the McFarland squad, who qualified for the state tournament last March. Garrett, who also competes with Wisconsin Swing , is a good decision maker in pick and roll where he can find a rolling Eli Krueger Eli Krueger 6'10" | PF McFarland | 2027 State WI , or score off the bounce. Crull seems to make the right decision a lot of the time when the Spartans go empty pick and roll in the half court. Garrett is a fun player to watch in transition as he can probe to the basket to finish or set up his teammates on kick out threes/ dumpoffs. Crull has developed off the ball this off-season as he was able to score off cuts and sets to finish athletically at the rim. The six-foot-five prospect is garnering division two interest and is poised for a big July.

Crull is a left-handed lead guard who, like so many others in the 2027 class, has performed exceptionally well over the past six months with McFarland and the Wisconsin Swing . He helped McFarland to a berth in the WIAA Division 2 State Tournament with his ability to turn the corner on defenders and get to the basket to score. He also flashed a solid perimeter jump shot for the Spartans last winter and then took his assets to the Swing in April and has been outstanding on the RecruitLook circuit. His leadership, scoring/passing abilities and size are all huge assets for a lead guard. Crull currently owns NCAA Division II offers from Minnesota State-Moorhead and South Dakota School of Mines.

Crull provided the offensive punch McFarland needed to overtime a seven-point deficit in the second half. He scored the majority of his 16 points after intermission and buried a couple of huge three-point baskets while helping the Spartans’ rally past Sauk Prairie. In addition to scoring from deep, Crull showed the ability to use his length and size to post-up smaller guards while also catching the ball on the perimeter and scoring off the bounce. Also an outstanding football prospect as a quarterback, the left-handed Crull’s athleticism and scoring are vital to McFarland’s success.
