Toughest Sectional - Sectional 8 @ Noblesville High School

This is one you can pretty much pencil in year after year. Sectional 8 is historically one of the toughest fields in the state and that is certainly true once again this year. Undefeated #1-ranked Fishers is obviously the headliner, but they will be tested prior to potentially cutting down the nets for a third straight time. The Tigers will play the winner of Hamilton Southeastern and Westfield on Friday night. Hamilton Southeastern and Fishers are massive rivals and always play competitive games. The Royals lost by seven points back on December 19th. Similarly, Westfield took Fishers to overtime before losing 74-72 on February 5th. Then, it would likely be Carmel who Fishers would face in the championship game on Saturday. The Greyhounds only lost by three points during the regular season. Both Noblesville and Zionsville, who play on Tuesday night, will have the ability to knock off Carmel as well. This is an absolutely loaded field both in terms of top end talent and depth.

Under-the-Radar Sectional - Sectional 3 @ Mishawaka High School

There are several under-the-radar Sectional fields here in the Class 4A North, but we find Sectional 3 at Mishawaka to be the most intriguing. This bracket features three Top 16 teams in the state and three others that have at least 14 wins on the season. Only the host, Mishawaka, is has fewer than 14 wins (they are 6-15). South Bend St. Joseph enters as the highest ranked team in the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 20 Super Poll at #8. They also drew the benefit of the bye and are 3-0 against the field with wins over Riley (70-58), Penn (67-58), and Adams (82-62). South Bend Riley and Penn check it at #15 and #16 respectively in the Super Poll. Riley just recently beat Penn 73-68. They were the Sectional 3 winner last season and advanced to the Semi-State, but SBSJ has moved up to Class 4A due to the success factor. LaPorte, Michigan City, and South Bend Adams have all had excellent seasons as well and are capable of an upset on any given night. Prep Hoops Indiana plans to have boots on the ground on Wednesday night.
