It wasn’t that long ago that South Bend Adams was undefeated. They started the season 10-0 prior to hitting a rough patch in their schedule and losing five straight games. However, they bounced back in a major way on Saturday afternoon defeating Portage, who had started the season 16-0, 69-67. Tolbert Jr, an unsigned senior guard, scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Eagles.

Another star from the South Bend area that came down to the Metro Indy Fall League on Sunday, Tolbert Jr. stood out as a scorer and all-around playmaker. He has good size in the backcourt 6’2″-6’3″ guard, is very quick end-to-end with the ball in his hands, and was consistently involved in the rebounding efforts for his team. Tolbert Jr., a star at South Bend Adams High School, continues to fly a bit under-the-radar heading into his senior season. He really proved himself on Sunday evening as a weapon to be very aware of in the Class of 2026.

. He has been a stock riser for us out PH Indiana and makes the case as a top 50 player in the class now. He handles the ball well for his size and can be very relentless driving to the rack. He would give any small college an edge right away.

One of the top under-the-radar scorers in the state of Indiana, Tolbert Jr. shot up from #60 to #29 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2026 Prospect Rankings. The South Bend Adams guard averaged 18.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore and has had a strong spring/summer between playing with Indiana Game on the UA Rise Circuit and then shining at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. He is a relentless right hand driver with good physical and athletic tools that he uses to finish at a high percentage around the rim. Continues to blossom as a three-point shooter as well.
