One of the players that I thought defined the phrase “head of the snake” the best was

of Indiana Gas UA Rise. Ott-Large is a guard that loves to penetrate the lane and try to get to the rim on the attack. Not only was an aggressive attacking guard, he showed his ability to create his outside jumper on the ball a little bit. He was a positive note for
Indiana Game
in the tough loss I saw of theirs.

A junior guard that seems to be rising up the ranks in the in-state 2027 class is LaPorte’s

. when it comes to production, Ott-Large makes a case to be in that tier with him averaging 19.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.7 assists a game for the Slicers. He has a strong frame that he loves to use to attack the lane and he will either bully his way to the basket or hit a pull-up jumper over the defense. Big week for him and you can watch him in action vs Michigan City, Crown Point, and Concord.

Heady guard that got his jump shot going late in the session. Plays at his own pace and doesn’t get sped up easily. Strong frame that helps him through contact. High IQ passer in pick and roll situations that knows when to score and when to facilitate.

Physical guard that does a good job of balancing the game of getting others involved while also being able to score in a variety of different ways. Look for him to be a guy to showcase his leadership skills and be a guy other players enjoy playing with.

EG10 16u has a very fun backcourt to watch between Baker and Ott-Large. Both earned All-Tournament designation for their play over the weekend. Ott-Large, a 6’2″ guard from LaPorte High School, uses his strength so well off of the dribble and can push a lot of opposing defenders on his way to the basket.

Ott-Large is one of the higher ranked players we will have in this watch list series for June but even with his ranking, he still feels just a tad under-the-radar when you discuss the top guard prospects in the 2027 in-state class. He is a player that has gotten better and better as he has grown as a high school player becoming a guy you give the ball to and tell him to go make a play. He has a strong frame that he loves to use to attack the lane and he will either bully his way to the basket or hit a pull-up jumper over the defense. He averaged 16,9 points, 4.5 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game last season for LaPorte.

We always emphasize the fact that we are rankings PROSPECTS not PRODUCTION. However, it is hard to argue with the consistent production of this 6’2″ guard from LaPorte High School. He averaged 16.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game this season. Ott-Large’s size in the backcourt and high-level playmaking skills are what led him to a 12 spot jump from #38 to #26 in our rankings.

is a player with a ton of upside and breakout potential. He is a 6’1 guard right now that is still growing but already has a lot of strength. Real strong build to him and plays with explosiveness and a quick first step off the ball. Real strong, high IQ defender as well. Been really good for
Indiana Game
this spring.
