We are starting to see consistent impressive performers stack up when evaluating this 6’0″ guard from Marquette Catholic. He was good in June with his high school team, stood out with Indiana Game at times throughout the summer, and has been good at multiple events this month as well. Mays is very strong and quick when attacking the paint and is consistently active on the defensive end. He is definitely a good two-way point guard for small college programs to track heading into his senior season.

As Indiana Game Gold 17u started to pull away in the second half it was Mays who was running the show and making things happen offensively. The talented 5’11” point guard is an outstanding ball handler and always keeps his head up when he is in attack mode. Mays made so many great plays off of the bounce for his teammates while also showcasing his own scoring ability at the end of his drives. He finished with 16 points and a bunch of assists in what turned into a blowout victory.

Prep Hoops Indiana Class 1A #1 Kouts fell at the hands of Marquette Catholic 59-57. The Blazers avenged a 58-39 loss from earlier in the season. It wouldn’t have been possible without this explosive junior guard. Mays scored a game-high 24 points to lead Marquette Catholic to the upset victory. They will face Triton at North Judson High School on Saturday.

Marquette Catholic picked up a 63-41 win over Morgan Township on Wednesday night to move to 8-6 on the season. They only have one loss to a fellow Class 1A team though and that was #1 Kouts. Mays poured in a career-high 27 points, including four three-point shots, on Wednesday evening. The dynamic junior guard is now averaging 14.1 points per game for the Blazers.
