One of the most talented junior guards in the Fort Wayne area, Irby displayed his high-level of physicality in the backcourt on Monday night. It is really hard for opposing guards to handle his strength especially when it is paired with good skill level as well. Irby went off for 25 points including 10 in the fourth quarter to help seal Fort Wayne South Side’s 58-46 victory over Scecina Memorial.

Another athletic, physical guard from the Fort Wayne area, Irby had some big games at the Windy City Clash for OPS – UA Rise 16u. He posted a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds to finish off the weekend with a win over Team Rose 3SGB 16u 81-68. Irby’s ability to rebound from the perimeter at 5’10” shows just how athletic, strong, and willing to stick his nose in there he is.

Irby had a strong sophomore season for the Archers and displayed his talents on Friday night against Fort Wayne Wayne. The 5’10” guard led Fort Wayne South Side with 15 points connecting on some shots from the perimeter while also showcasing his strength and athleticism as a finisher around the basket. The future bright for South Side and Irby is a big reason why.

Another standout in the OPS – Buckhanon backcourt, Irby teamed up with Baskerville to lead his squad to a runner-up finish in the 15u platinum bracket at the GRBA National Championship. Irby has a very strong, physical build for a young guard that helps him play through contact and finish against size at the end of his drives. He is a real two-way threat with good defensive instincts. After a strong freshman campaign at Fort Wayne South Side High School, look for Irby to really prove himself as one of the most talented rising sophomores in Fort Wayne this coming season.

This super athletic guard out of Fort Wayne South Side High School is immediately one we were not aware of before the season. However, Irby burst onto the scene averaging 9.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game for the Archers. Irby has some explosive driving ability in the open floor and rebounds very well from the lead guard position.
