Our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase is arguably the most popular event that we put on each year. Not only is it a great opportunity for our staff to get an early evaluation of some of the most talented freshmen before the begin their high school career, but it also serves as an important evaluation/recruiting tool for our state's many great AAU programs. This year we welcomed in over 100 of the best Class of 2029 prospects here in Indiana. Over the last week we have made our way through all of our top performers, team-by-team evaluations, and more. We will now take one final look back at our content from the Freshman Showcase.

Gold Jr. is on the short list of prospects that we had seen a couple of times prior to Sunday's Freshman Showcase. He was one of the standouts over the summer for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 14u who went to the Jr. EYBL championship game at the Peach Jam in July. That is where we first had a chance to evaluate this 6'1″ guard from Cathedral High School. He is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the freshman class and can really get hot from three-point range as he did in one stretch during five-on-five play at the Freshman Showcase. There is no denying the skill that he possesses with the ball in his hands.

Crown Point High School is sufficiently loaded with talent right now. From a pair of Division I commits in the senior class all of the way down to their incoming freshman, they have one of the deepest pools of talent in the state right now. Hughes was a new name that jumped onto our radar at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 5'10” guard did a little bit of everything throughout the day. He shot it well from beyond the arc, looked poised and comfortable in the mid-range, and had enough burst to get downhill and finish around the basket. Definitely one to watch for down the road for the Bulldogs.

You'll immediately be impressed by the athletic and physical tools of this freshman prospect when watching him play. Thoman has the look of a college-level tight end and he uses those physical traits to dominate on the hardwood. The Shelbyville High School prospect was very impressive on Sunday as a driver, slasher, and interior finisher. At 6'3″ he was able to overpower a lot of his defenders and get to the spots he wanted around the basket. We wouldn't be surprised to see him as a contributor for Shelbyville sooner rather than later. He was definitely among the most impressive prospects at the Freshman Showcase.

Wilkins was an impressive guard from down in southern Indiana at Floyd Central High School. The 5'11” shot-maker looked most comfortable when playing off of the ball where he could space the floor as a three-point shooter or catch and dribble into a quick pull-up. However, Wilkins also spent some time on the ball as a playmaker. His ability to fill either guard spot makes him even more valuable in the backcourt. Wilkins consistency of putting the ball in the basket at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase led to him earning top performer honors.

Between Sunday's Freshman Showcase and Sophomore ID Camp, Wilson was probably the most intriguing long term prospect in attendance. The 6'7″ forward/center is an above-the-rim player on both ends of the floor. He was dunking it offensively and blocking shots defensively. He moves very fluidly for his size, especially for a young big man, and is just scratching the surface of what he can become. The Cathedral High School freshman is absolutely one of the top Class of 2029 prospects in the state.
