About Levi

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to take charge when I need to but I also want to make sure everyone is involved. I'm not afraid to drive to the basket and draw fouls. I'm confident in my free throw shooting. I'm consistently the leading scorer and rebounder on my school team. But I'm also excited when someone who doesn't get much playing time can get in the game and score a bucket.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I work hard on the court to stay positive. Although no one is harder on me than I am on myself. I don't like to lose or miss shots. I work to stay positive when a play doesn't go correctly. I am a team leader and my attitude impacts my entire team. I am a leader on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In addition to playing basketball, I run track, cross-country, play soccer and play baseball. I am very active in FFA , serve as Vice-President of my 4-H club, a member of Miami County Junior Leaders and a mentor to mini-4Hers. I am in National Junior Honor Society, serving as Treasurer. I am also a member of FCA.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Community service is very important to me. As part of my FFA activities, I manage a food pantry donation program, where I have raised nearly $71,000 for my local food pantry. I have been involved in 4-H leadership training and mentor younger members.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm open to all possibiities

Merritt helped provide some much needed size on the perimeter for Team 1 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6’2″ wing from Maconaquah High School has an impressive athletic build and held his own defensively while guarding multiple different positions. Offensively he was effective as a slasher and right hand driver while perhaps standing out the most by crashing the glass consistently and getting his team second chance opportunities. That effort and non-stop motor will always help him get the most out of his talent.

Merritt, a 6’1″ hybrid wing/forward is a young prospect that projects to be an impact guy at some point for the Braves. We are anxious to see him in action for the first time at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase in September.
