Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp | Team 4 Evals

There are many great days across the busy Indiana High School Basketball schedule. However, few compare to our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. On Sunday, September 6th at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club we hosted nearly 250 of the best underclassmen in the state. Over the next couple of weeks we will be posting individual evaluations of every prospect in attendance, highlighting top performers, introducing new names, and much more. Here are the prospect evaluations for Team 4 from the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp.   ***As you can imagine, with nearly 250 prospects, we are bound to miss someone. If your team's evaluation article gets posted and you were NOT included please connect with Brandon Ramsey on Twitter or via email at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com and he will take care of the mistake.***    Getting us started with Team 4 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp is [player_tooltip player_id='3590043' first='Carson' last='James']. James, a 6'0" guard, was one of the main ball handlers for Team 4. He showed some really crafty handles and was able to mix it up on the drive and with a pull-up jumper.     There were many players who provided some solid perimeter options on Team Four at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp, and one of those guys was [player_tooltip player_id='3587229' first='Andrew' last='Curless'] from Shenandoah HS. Curless is a real solid floor spacer who showed some nice shooting mechanics from the wing. He is built with a taller, wider frame and showed an ability to cut well off the basketball, as well.     One of the post options for Team Four at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='3761620' first='Vince' last='Lake'] of Bishop Chatard. Lake is a long forward who provided a lot of length around the basket. While he is not the strongest player yet under the basket, his length really helped him make plays above the opposition on both ends of the floor. He also showed potential when it comes to becoming a bit more versatile.     One of the players that I thought really competed hard on the floor for Team Four at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp was Zaire Baker. Coming from the always-tough Evansville Bosse program, Baker brought a lot of energy to the floor while also being one of the more athletic players on the court. He plays with a high motor that allows him to attack the basket and stay active on the defensive end.     Arguably the player with the highest upside on Team 4 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='2821347' first='AJ' last='Green']. Green, a 6'0" point guard, is one of the players who comes from the exciting sophomore class at Fishers HS. Green was very impressive with the ball, being one of the best ISO players that I saw throughout the entire day. I also liked his quickness and rebounding ability for his position.     Another player in the backcourt for Team 4 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp who had some standout moments was [player_tooltip player_id='3722857' first='Santiago' last='Meza'] from Penn HS. Meza was one of the bigger, more physical guards that I had a chance to watch. He used his size to play through contact well and was just super tough around the basket. He was also not afraid to set screens and roll to the basket a bit as well.     Perhaps the top player for Team 4 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp on Sunday was [player_tooltip player_id='3626117' first='Braysen' last='Russell'] of Austin HS. It did not take long for Russell to become one of the standout sophomores in the gym with his elite ability to score the basketball. Russell is a guard who is just wired to score and creates so well with the ball in his hands. He plays with a tight handle and a high basketball IQ.     A player that I thought really competed for Team Four at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='2934109' first='Camden' last='Clowers'] of North Posey HS. Clowers is a 6'1" guard who plays with a tough motor and was really strong at taking his defender off the dribble. He is a very competitive player in the backcourt.     There were a lot of players on Team Four who made plays with the ball, but one of the better players on this team off the ball was [player_tooltip player_id='2871653' first='Carter' last='Horton']. Coming from Mount Vernon (Fortville), Horton is a taller wing at 6'3" who moves really well off the ball. I saw him hit a corner three in one of the games, and that was due to his ability to find space and get to the right spots for his team.     A sneaky athlete on Team Four at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='2839959' first='Levi' last='Merritt']. Merritt is a smaller yet hybrid forward who played a little bit on the perimeter and in the post for Team Four. He was a willing defender while also showing the ability to be a good slasher on the offensive end.    Player #553 (Working on getting name confirmed) - This player was one of the quicker guards on Team Four. With the ball in his hands, he really liked to push the pace and get out in transition off a rebound. He also hit a really smooth three off the catch in one of the games I got to watch.
